I had the two extremes of weather this week! As I mentioned in my last post, the coldest of cold in Ohio. And then this weekend, the warmest of warm in Las Vegas. Coming straight from Ohio, I wasn’t prepared for the warm Vegas weather and I got really hot in my boots and jackets!
Brecken’s team played in a volleyball tournament. Here they are with big smiles on their faces after a big win! And here are the moms with the coach in the middle. It’s fun to travel with such great girls and their wonderful mothers!
Vegas isn’t my favorite city to visit but I have to give credit that every resort is so creative. I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the Pink Flamingo’s gardens:
So how was your Valentine’s weekend? I got this sweet picture of my New Zealand son and needless to say it made my love day complete! Collin now lives in Dannevirke and says it’s like walking through the “Lord of the Rings” movie everyday–it’s so beautiful!
He is absolutely loving his time in New Zealand and is smitten with the Kiwi people. The kindness showed to him will warm his soul for a lifetime!
Other standouts from Valentine’s day? I spent last Thursday with my Dad who’s health continues to decline. He suffers from dementia plus other hard physical hardships. He is undeniably the kindest, gentlest man I’ve ever met. Yet dementia has altered his personality a bit over the past year. I was determined that he “write” a Valentine to his sweetheart, so I asked what he wanted to say to my mom and I penned it for him. The note makes me cry:
I love you because you are pretty. I love you because you are wonderful. I appreciate everything you do for me. Thank you putting up with me even when I’m crabby. You are my sweetheart!
Awwww–Be still my heart. My parents have been married for almost 64 years and their undying love is a beautiful example to all of us.
I also got this amazingness from my pal, Michael Lazorchak, in the mail:
There are nine small boxes inside one big box and each box pulls out and opens on the top:
Nestled inside each box were sugar cookies! (Notice I said “were.” They were amazing :)!)
Michael said he repurposed this box for the project:
This entire project, along with the card below, was created using the Silhouette and American Crafts paper:
What a clever boy that Michael is!
Hope you’re having a wonderful middle of the week! It’s a cold blizzard outside for me!
