I’m Off to Missouri!

For today’s post, I had a yummy recipe to share and a craft you must try with your kids this summer. Then I got the sad news that my uncle (my mom’s brother) in Missouri passed away yesterday. First of all, wow–so many memories of this great man have been flooding my memory for the past 24 hours. He and his family lived on the farm my mom grew up on so we’d go stay with them every summer. We’d spend two weeks riding horses, building forts in the hay loft, climbing silos, gathering eggs, riding tractors and living the dream country life. I love and adore my uncle and his family and am saddened by their loss.

Secondly, my parents aren’t able to travel to the funeral due to my dad’s fragile health, so my sister and I are getting on a jet plane tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. heading to Missouri to attend the services of my uncle. I return Sunday night and then am heading straight to my congregation’s girls’ camp the next morning.

So–please be patient with me over the next week with my blog posts. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to share the recipe and craft today–I ran out of time. I’ll try to squeeze a few posts in here and there but will be limited to internet access and time.

I’m also getting super excited for July 23rd! I’ll be featuring some fun, new products! I’ll keep you posted on the times.

Hope you have a great weekend!
