Must See Movie!

How was your weekend? Mine was a lot of fun! I'm the choir director at church and on Saturday I went to my favorite bakery and got orange rolls for all the members of the choir. (I took them around with a friendly reminder about practices, Easter Sunday info, etc.). When I got to the bakery, I was shocked to see the rolls were green--not orange. Then I remembered it was St. Patrick's Day. So--I decided to buy everything green in the bakery and have a real St. Patrick's Day meal with my family. We all dressed in green, put green gel in Sage's hair, had lots of green balloons for the center piece, then ate hot dogs in green buns, broccoli, guacamole (it's late--I hope I'm spelling this correctly!) with green chips, green doughnuts, green orange rolls, 7-Up with limes, Andes Mints, green tootsie rolls (apple flavor), etc. Of course the plates, cups and napkins were green as well. Loved this memory and can't wait to scrapbook the green photos.
By the way, my family and I went to my favorite movie ever last night called "The Ultimate Gift." I read the book a year ago and loved it. The movie is just as good. Life altering! Go see it!!
Also, congrats to all the Hall of Fame winners. I had a great time calling them yesterday. And--exciting news! We had a guy win this year and he's only 18! Very cool.
I also had a heavy heart last night after calling the winners. I know there are so many of you who are amazing scrapbookers who entered the contest and didn't receive "the call." Remember this--the most important people on earth (your family) love your pages and think you're the best scrapper in the world! And--many people that I called said they've entered year after year and haven't won. So--don't give up.
Have a great Tuesday night!
And--go see "The Ultimate Gift" :) !

Gave the calls to people for the HOF hey! I can't believe a guy won...that's super cool! I enjoy seeing the layouts for all that but I think everyone should win. So really winning isn't everything.....just scrapbooking it's what's fun and keeping it fun. I hope no one looses site of that. Your right, everyone's pages are important especially to their families.
Seriously, green rolls...I am getting hungry just reading your blog here. I missed supper and my tummy is turning reading about your chips, rolls and yummy din din. TFS! YUM!
Lisa - You are just amazing!! I LOVE the idea of the St. Patrick's Day dinner. Your family is so lucky to have you!! You are so spontaneous and fun!! And I have to ask...how do you have time to be the choir director at church??? There must be 43 hours in each of your days!! God bless!!

I still remember when you called me, Lisa! in GERMANY! and guess what? I might get to actually meet you as well - I hear you will be in Holland for Scrap-a-Ganza and as of right now - I am signed up not only to go, but to take your class as well!
Take care! Amber Ries (HOF 05)
Dear Lisa,
I am one who didn't get a call... while I am disappointed, I am OK!!! It was a great experience, and it definitely pushed me to be my best.
I was feeling for you last night, knowing how hard it must have been for you to know there were so many people who DIDN'T win. I knew that must have been hard for you. But know that we are OK!!!

Your such a cool mom! I bet your kids loved their St. Patty's day celebration. I may have to try something fun like that next year (minus the broccoli--I love the stuff, but I can't get anyone else in my family to eat it--not even smothered in cheese.)
Too cool about the HOF calls...and that's spectacular that there's an 18 year old guy in the mix! Now there's a scrapbook demographic that needs to be tapped into. I wish I had had the time to enter this year, but I had so much going on around the deadline...perhaps next year. Sigh.
And as for being your church choir director...I had no idea you sang. I sing alto...but haven't been able to do choir for years since my husband is gone most sundays and I have to watch the kiddos. I bet you have a ball. How do you do it all? You're amazing!
Thanks for sharing so much with us!
Congrats to all of the winners. And that's super cool about a guy winning! Makes me feel better by not winning if I was able to give up my space to a man. I think there needs to be more in the industry.
I must admit that I was a little disappointed about not getting a call on Monday. I don't think I would have been as much if my husband hadn't prank called me with an 801 area code number, shortly after calls had started. I can't wait to see the list tomorrow. So many talented scrappers entered this year! Congrats to you all! Thanks Lisa!
Lisa,
I just have to say I looooove call week!! It's so fun to have to have all that talent gathered together and even more exciting to congratulate the winners. :)
And yes...The Ultimate Gift is definitely a "must see." I saw it last weekend too and immediately thought I should scrap a layout about each gift and create a mini-album. The movie totally encourages you to cherish the important things in life!!
Happy Wednesday!!
excellent words of encouragement re: HOF. i'll look forward to your call next year!! **wink**
Can I just say I love your idea of having a color to fit the holiday, ie. green St. Pat's. I remember reading a few years ago that you did a dinner party for Valentine's Day where everyone wears red and brings a red food item. It inspired me then and the green night inspires me now. Rock on Lisa!!!
PLEASE consider organizing the HOF book this year according to designer, NOT by page category. It is hard to get a feel for each designer's "style" when their layouts are scattered over 100+ pages.
Okay, I was a little worried that y'all couldn't get "fresh" food up there in the mountains! Did it all taste better green? Love the ideas. BTW, Lisa, where did you get the message board? Totally cute. Have a great week!
Lisa,
This is a question about the products you had on your website. You used to have a service to have a scrapbook page made into invitations. Now I can't pull up that information. Please let me know the name of this service. I just made my husband and I's combined 40th birthday party scrapbook page and wanted to get it made into invitations.
My email is kimhacking@hotmail.com
Thank you,

Lisa, i just wanted to let you know that i think you are an amazing mother.
I am so glad that God gave you the Gift that he did to inspire us all. Not only do you inspire us in a creative way, you inpire us in our daily lives.
Your children are so lucky to have you as their mom.
We have done a green meals for ever in our family. Don't forget your green food coloring. Anything like milk or mashed potatoes that aren't green can become that way quickly. I usually take bottles of either 7-up or moutain Dew and replace the label with one I made myself with my stamps now declaring it is official leprechaun juice.
Lisa - When are you going to write that book about parenting?? You have so many amazing ideas and stories!!
Lisa--thank you for telling us about "the Ultimate Gift!" I hadn't heard about it yet, and the cast looks amazing, with cute little Abigail Breslin. I will put it on my list of "must dos!"
Your St. Paddy's "green dinner" looks a bunch of fun! Everyone is right--you are a super mom with great ideas--thanks for sharing some of them with us!
Lisa,
Sounds like you and your family had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! I was wondering if anyone that purchased the All Occasion Card Kit from QVC could tell me if additional postage is needed to mail the cards?
OK so I wasn't a winner. But how could I win when I didn't even have enough faith in myself to ever even enter. Maybe next year, hopefully we'll see. I can't wait to check out that movie. Glad you had an awesome ST. Patty's Day. I slept all day and went to work Friday and Saturday night. But I did wear green both nights. Just got back in town from Minnesota where we snowmobililed and went sled riding for SPRING BREAK. Maybe next year we'll hit somewhere warm. We'll see. Have a happy day. Can't wait for the Easter Bunny to come. EVERYONE READY YET?? I am, well almost.
thanks for the pep talk for us that didn't get the call....can't wait to see what the next HOF!!! love the green dinner, too funny!!
I really adore your way to celebrate things with so much pretty details.
It's one of the reason why I like your culture.
It always put colours in life.
Good idea!

I'm not find "The Ultimate Gift" at regular theaters? Is there somewhere special it is being shown at?
Lisa
My husband and I went to see "The Ultimate Gift" today. It was a great movie and I wanted to thank you for recommending it. I hope that Fox Faith movies keeps up the awesome work. Its great to see a clean movie with an incredible message.
When I saw "The Ultimate Gift" here I looked it up and saw that it was playing in a city about an hour away. Went to see it on a Saturday afternoon by myself and was it ever worth it. Thanks so much for the recommendation! Best movie I've seen in awhile. (plus there was a new scrapbook store in the town that I got to visit)!!!!
