"Lucky Blessed" Lisa Bearnson

I'm dying to tell you about my Spring Break in Florida and the "perfect" day I had there. However, today I have to tell you how lucky and blessed I am! A few years ago, I created a scrapbook page about "Lucky, Blessed" Lisa Bearnson. On the page, I journaled about how I was always called "Lucky Lisa" growing up. (It's no wonder that my favorite jeans and cereal begin with the word "lucky." Also that we named our cat Lucky.) I was "lucky" when I found a hundred dollar bill on the campus ground when I was a poor college student. (I turned it in and a month later it was mine since nobody claimed it.) I was "lucky" when stranger bought a plane ticket in NYC when my purse had been stolen. I was "lucky" to find a man I wanted to spend forever with. I was "lucky" Creating Keepsakes has been such a success and the world has caught the scrapbooking fever. So the letter "L" in my name is definitely for "Lucky." However, when I think about my "lucky" life I realize that luck has very little to do with it. Instead my life has been "blessed."

Okay, so here is my incredible blessing that I want to share with you. My parents and Steve's parents are great friends. They just got off a Hawaiian cruise together and had the best time. It's so neat to have both sets over to our house and see our dads sitting on the couch shooting the bull and our moms chatting away over a game of Five Crowns with our children. I keep telling our children to enjoy this unique relationship--it doesn't happen everyday. And--I am soooooo blessed. My dad is better than I've seen him in years. Our family thought he wasn't going to make it right before Christmas and just look at him now! My mom about fainted when he said he wanted to go on this cruise--really a miracle. She didn't think he'd ever travel again.

I got this photo last night from my mom and just wanted to share.

What do your initials stand for?? Please share with us!

I'll write again soon.

We are blessed to have such God-fearing parents, grand parents, etc. I believe our "luck" is God's favor that results from our God-loving ancestor's trust and obedience(you know, kind of like how in the Old Testament God blessed David's offspring because he loved and feared the Lord). And too, because we love and fear God. Everything you mentioned, to me, is God's blessings on your everyday life because of your faith and obedience and those who came before you. I've been very "lucky" in that I was accepted into a competetive college without having completed all of my prerequisites prior to applying and several jobs that other people had waited months or years to get into (some never even got an interview). I don't consider myself "special" or outstanding in comparison to others in any way...just blessed by Almighty God!!! And I am very thankful for my faith and even the smallest blessings He has bestowed upon me and my family. Love to see and hear other people's testimonies that ultimately give the glory to Him too!
p.s. Pray for us here in Texas...we're having some wicked weather this spring! :(

I remember you mentioning your father's condition a few months ago...Isn't God good?? You truly are blessed!

If I had to say what my initials stand for it would have to be "Thankful" and "Memories" (of course).

Here's to more "perfect" days. :)

I'm sorry to address this here, but I can't seem to find an email address or contact form: I'm trying to order the kit of the month and it won't let me! It tells me about an "unresolvable error". I'm hoping it will be resolved in time for me to get it... :(

So great for both sets of parents to be friends. I saw that with my parents' parents and it was wonderful!

I haven't ever thought about what my initials would stand for before, I will have to give it some thought.

Hey Lisa!

My intitals, SC, stans for "simply content." At 30, I have finally stopped trying to become the ideal wife, mother, teacher, friend, person. I have learned to like ME despite my imperfection, to breathe, and take time to just BE.

As always, I love your updates. It's so great that both sets of parents went on this cruise! I remember the stories about your Dad, and I cannot believe how well he's doing. It's wonderful and so fortunate! It definitely sounds like you are lucky and blessed!

As for me, my initials are C.S., and I'm going to have to say that it stands for Creative Scrapbooker or Confident and Sentimental.

I asked my girls what they thought, and my oldest said Caring Supermom! Isn't that great? My youngest daughter just said I'm a Cool Shining Star! Wow, I'm a lucky mom! I asked for ideas, and my girls are complimenting me! It doesn't get any better than that!

I might have to do a layout on this subject! Thanks for the idea Lisa!

Thank you for clarifing "Lucky" as blessed! I truly believe that. I don't believe in luck and even have a hard time saying "Good Luck" to people. I'm trying to change that "Good Luck" phrase to "God Bless" - old habits die hard, but I'll get it one of these days. May your blessings continue on!

jd, humm, juvenile delinquent? No, lol, too old. I think I'll settle for Just Different. I took me a long time to feel comfortable in my own skin, to know that I love and am loved because i hear a different drummer. To know that I can appreciate those people and things that are off the beaten path. To know that life is good no matter what the direction if you Just Differentiate. Blessing on your father, may he be healthy for a long time.
