Changes at CK

I mentioned last week that there are some big changes happening at CK. After a decade of service on behalf of Creating Keepsakes, Editor in Chief Tracy White is off to new adventures. She has been a huge advocate for the industry over the past 10 years and her energy and passion will be missed.

I'm also excited to announce the new faces behind Creating Keepsakes. Please read CK's official announcement below:

After ten years with Creating Keepsakes, Tracy White recently resigned from her position as Editor-in-Chief. Tracy has been instrumental in Creating Keepsakes' success, and we will miss her sensitive spirit and boundless energy. We wish Tracy success and joy in her new adventures.

We are pleased to announce that Brian Tippetts has accepted the position of Editor-in-Chief. Brian, formally CK's Art Director, brings many qualities and strengths to this new leadership role. His years of publishing experience, creative vision, and day-to-day operating experience will enable him to take the magazine and industry to the next level.

To assist Brian, we are pleased to announce that Britney Mellen has accepted the position of Creative Editor. Britney is an avid scrapbooker and teacher and is passionate about documenting memories and experiences. She will focus her energies on overseeing editorial content, write a monthly column, and teach at CKUs and conventions.

So that's the scoop.

I'll post the winners of the contest really soon. There were soooooo many great quotes--I'm having a hard time narrowing it down to only 25.

Have a great evening.

Yipes! Change always moves emotions 10 different ways! Wishing Tracy White luck on her new move, and welcome to Brian & Britney. Your devotion & talent are remarkable as well as your staff! OH! P.S. LOVE THE CUT! When the photo of you popped up, you immediately reminded me of the girl on the talk show "The View"...what is her name?! Elizabeth...that's it! She's quite adorable!

Tracey will be dearly missed. She has been a great editor and friend to you and everyone at CK. I hope that you two will continue your friendship throughout the years. She really has inspired me to journal more about ME when us scrapbookers seem to journal everything and about everyone, but ourselves.

I love your blog, Lisa.

Any chance you are coming to the CKC in Charlotte? ( Please!! )

Lisa - I am so so sad that Tracy is leaving she will be missed. Now we know why you were so emotional you had us on pins and needles and now understand. Hopefully she will stay in the industry. Can you please pass along my email address to her so that we (Vicki and I) may keep in touch with her. We were supposed to catch up at the Stationery Show. Take Care and be well.

Will Brian be teaching Tracy's album track at Nashville CKU this summer? If so, does he scrapbook? No offense, but I signed up for Tracy's class and two minutes later a note was added that the teacher was changed to Brian. I know there were rumors before but I am a little worried that I am getting a talented person who hasn't taught much before. Please ease my fears by telling me HE is an avid scrapbooker and teacher. Thanks!

Please give Tracy our love and support. I love her journalling articles, and especially her layout that had the 20 things she wanted to do,or something, and "have sex" was one of them- which caused a huge stir. I LOVE that, and have since added it to MY list! LOL She's definitely a great one. I'll miss her. Good luck to the new people, though. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Hi Lisa!
So excited to see the upcoming changes in action - I know they will bring wonderful new things to CK!!!
I posted a comment about your pants but it never showed up, so I'm hoping this one does. I used to write decorative painting books, teach classes, etc. and have removed acrylic paint from many things!!! Rubbing alcohol will dissolve and remove even dried acrylic paint. If the red dye still leaves a stain, Don Aslett makes a product called "punch out" that is specifically for red dye removal, and has gotten Kool Aid out of my friend's carpet. Good luck!!!

For Tracy

Best of wishes to you, Tracy
As you continue on life's way
Please know our thoughts are with you
Every single day.

You have touched more lives
That you will ever know
And we hope these little love notes
Our sincere feelings for you will show.

There are those you have inspired to journal
Feeling free their stories to tell
For from you they learned the secret
Because you do it so well.

You have introduced fresh faces
Who have gone on to be a star
And with your gentle encouragement
So many scrappers have gone far.

From creating pretty places to store photos
To a sharing of life itself
We now create books to be held and cherished
Not just placed upon a shelf.

You have laughed with us and cried with us
You have hugged us when we met
And although we know we must let you go
Our hearts just aren't ready yet...

Much love,
Thena

One thing you can always count on is change...I know this hasn't been easy on you, but we scrappers are a heart-y bunch and do stick it out :)

Sending good mojo your way during this transition. Isn't it great that you already had such a great talent pool set up to select from!?

Kudos to you, and best wishes to Tracy.

Hi Lisa!
So excited to see the upcoming changes at CK in action! I know they will bring wonderful new things!! I've tried several times to post re: the paint on your pants, but my posts never go through, so I thought I'd try one more time, and hope I'm not too late ;) Rubbing alcohol will remove acrylic paint from anything. I used to design and teach decorative painting, and have used it A LOT myself- LOL!!! Also, if there is still red pigment left, Don Aslett Cleaning Supply makes a product called Punch Out that will remove red dye (my friend got red kool aid out of light colored carpet, so I know it works!) Hope that helps!

Hope all the changes work out GREAT with CK.

Just read the article in this month's CK with Tracy about her dad. I like how honest she was about that relationship and gave me hope....As I have similar problems with family members.

IT's always nice to know there is hope to reconciling issues with family.

Tell Tracy thanks for the honesty and heart felt message.

Will miss her!

I will miss Tracy White. I so appreciated her honesty in her journaling, especially in regards to depression. She has actually inspired me to journal some of my own journey through depression. I wish her nothing but the best, and hopefully we will see her again in the scrapbooking industry.

I am writing to you about the 8x8 autoship kit from QVC that you promoted last year. I ordered that and received sets 1 & 2, but for whatever reason, I have never been able to get sets 3 & 4. They have always been cancelled on me. I have called QVC twice and they don't know what the problem is. Can you tell me what the problem is and if they are going to come in? If not, I plan on sending back to the other two sets. Thanks, Samra
