Warm Summer Night Fiasco

My oldest son, Kade, is always looking for an adventure. Last night he pitched a tent on top of the tramp then convinced all his sibling to sleep out there with him. I went to check on them around midnight and they were telling stories, giggling and loving each others company. For me, it was such a feel good moment and a memory I want to remember forever. This morning, the boys had to wake up bright and early. Collin was going to Wyoming with a friend's family and Kade had weight lifting for footall at the high school. An hour later, the girls came in hysterical and soaking wet. We'd forgotten one very important thing--the sprinklers go on around 7:30 a.m. and had gotten them good. What a terrible way to wake up! Brecken was so wet that at first she thought sleeping Sage (who was next to her) had wet the bed during the night. Steve and I tried to be sympathetic but couldn't help but laugh--really hard. What a funny memory. When Kade returned home, I ccaptured it on film as they were cleaning up the mess (Collin is still in Wyoming for the photo--darn it!).

Lesson learned--turn off the sprinklers before embarking on any overnight adventure outside!

I'm off for a week to my family's favorite place on earth--Lake Powell. Ahhh--I can hardly wait! No phones, dealines, expense reports!, lots of sun, great food and wonderful friends. Pure relaxation. I'll share my photos with you!

Have a great week yourself.

Sincerely,
Lisa B.

Now there's a memory worth scrapbooking! That's the stuff you sit around laughing about 20 years from now - "remember that time..." So good you captured it no film. You didn't happen to get a shot of the soaking wet girls? LOL! Have fun at the lake!

Oh that is a funny story! Yes, must remember those sprinklers next time around. We did that once...had friends over for a bonfire in our yard. Forgot to turn the sprinklers off and they turned on while we had our bonfire ...right on our friends. We were so embarrassed.

Have fun on vacation at lake Powell. Sounds like fun! Everyone needs time to get away and relax and you've earned it!!! Have a great time!

Hi Lisa - today is the anniversary of losing my mom 4 years ago. My son was less than 4 months old at the time. A few months after that, we lost our computer hard drive and any/all the pictures of my mom with my son. I remembered reading an issue some time back where you had a similar computer problem and were able to send your drive somewhere to be analyzed. This has been such a difficult subject for me and I have been hoping my husband would take care of it, but he is not and so I am hoping you may have some suggestions for me.
Sorry to have missed you in London a few weeks ago. We are currently living in London and it would have been such a great piece of home to have seen you on QVC here!
Thank you for any advice you have...

Lisa, Hope your vacation was fun! I love the camping out story my kids 6,5 & 3 are dying to camp out all night in the yard but I am a little leary about it. I may have to give in :)

Also, I wrote back in January about the Year in Review Albom and wanted to get in touch with you but not sure how. Here is what I wrote:
Lisa,

I posted on your blog the following:

Lisa - Happy Birthday to your husband. January 8th is my wedding anniversary. On a different note, I just opened the Year in Review kit from QVC and am missing the pieces for pages 4 & 5 and have duplicates of pages 12 & 13. I was wondering if this was brought to your attention earlier and I just did not notice this. Is there anything I can do to get the missing pages? QVC wants me to return the whole kit but I already did some of the pages (I skipped around).

Thanks,

Lynn

You posted to send you my email address so I am doing that.

Thanks and Happy Birthday to you! You share it with my father (he is 64)!

Many people like me are missing 6 pages of cardstock listed after the kits. QVC said they were checking but it wouls seem to be alot to send kits back. Can the pieces be replaced?
