See You Thurs., Fri. and Sat. on QVC!!
Hey Everyone!
I'm heading off to Philly in a few hours and just wanted to remind you of my shows over the next three days. I'll be on for two hours on Thursday July 12th from 8-10 p.m. (EST), Friday July 13th from 10 a.m. to noon (EST) and Saturday July 14th from 1 a.m. - 3 a.m. (EST). I've got approximately 10 new items--so lots of exciting products.
Just had to share with you some fun times we had last week in Nauvoo, Illinois. This is a small town which was basically founded by the early members of my church in the mid 1800s. At that time, it was the second largest city in Illinois with thousands of inhabitants. It was a complete swamp land that the people made it into a beautiful city. Due to religious persecution, the people were driven out of the city and journeyed to the Salt Lake Valley in Utah to build another city out of the desert.
Back to Nauvoo. My family spent three days in this lovely city. It's been completely restored so it looks like it did in the 1800s. You can tour through a gun shop, an old post office, bakery, school house, blacksmith shop, brick yard, etc., etc. We also spent a lot of time playing games from that time period (Kade killed me on the stick pole) and the girls had a blast dressing up. In the evenings from July 6-Aug. 4th, there is an amazing production that 's shown at 8:45 p.m. All of this is free. Nauvoo is not far from Quincy and Keokuk, Iowa. Really a great time had by all. If you're in the area, you really should stop by.
I'll wave at you while on QVC. Hope you're having a fun summer and are able to beat the heat.
Sincerely,
Lisa

I am going to try to tape the qvc shows when I can't watch them this weekend. My son's bday and other bdays happenings this weekend.
Lots going on! can't wait for the Aug. Shows.
Have a great trip over to QVC and back.
The Town in Ill. Nauvoo sounds really fun and historic.
I am always interested in historic places. I grew up in a tiny town that did't really exist any longer but the history was still buried all around. Every time we would garden we would find all kinds of things. Like, cystals from old lamps and buttons, glass jars, etc....We lived in the country but where we lived use to be a booming town near the river. It was a old mill town that burned down. I have an old pix of the MILL and I keep and cherish it. We actually lived in the old Miller's home. Of course, it has been added and updated since but very interesting history to all of it.
Thanks for the QVC reminder...I'll be sure to tune in. =)
Lisa,
Just 6 years ago we made the same trip, the year they were building the temple. What a wonderful experience, especially if you had family that lived there at one time, like my hubby and I did. A real faith building experience! My daughter's favorite part was taking the trail of tears on Parley Street, and then skipping stones in the Mississippi! We found where my husband's great-grandparents are buried in the Nauvoo cemetery and where his family lived. I hope to go back again soon.

So glad you got to experience Nauvoo! We were there 2 years ago and loved every minute of it. Hoping to make it back again some day, since I didn't have enough time to see all I wanted to see. My favorite place, though, was Carthage. I was so touched being there.
Oh no . . . 10 new items BEFORE the big event in August!!??!! I shouldn't watch! I need to save money for August viewing and purchasing! Oh no!
I've been noticing that pictures of Collin seem to be scarce lately. Is he camera shy? Love to see pics of your kids, and it's amazing how big they're all getting. My girls are getting big too, and it amazes me how quickly the time passes. I cannot believe that it's already the middle of July. This summer is going by way too quickly.
Can't wait to see you on QVC. Must not buy anything, must not buy anything, must not buy anything . . . this probably won't work! Oh well!
Hi Lisa,
Can't wait to see what treaures you have for us, I will be watching most of your shows! Don't you love Nauvoo? It's one of our favorite spots. Let me know next time you are going, we have a couple homes there, including the beautiful white one right across from the temple. Hope to see you next month in Utah, take care and have fun!!

Hi Lisa
Awesome job on QVC!! Loved so many of the items you presented!!
I agree with the other posts - - love the haircut and the outfits! I also agree with a couple of the callers - - you do a lot for people. You lift them up, inspire them and touch our lives in more ways than you know! Thanks!
Have a great weekend!
Cindy
I updated my blog this morning, then when checking my favorites, I saw you have stick pulling pictures too. Don't you just love Nauvoo? Happy selling on QVC!

Hey Lisa - You looked great on QVC!! I LOVE your new haircut. I, too, have been wondering about Collin - I haven't seen any pics of him...
Just wanted to add that you don't have to be Mormon to appreciate Nauvoo. We were there a few years ago and it is rich in Ameircan history and the wetward drive of this nation.
The gardens are beautiful too and the Mississippi is at it's best there.
Obviously, as non-members we couldn't go into the temple but the grounds were beautiful and we spent a lot of time looking at the flowers.
Hi Lisa,
I was just wondering if you had ever thought about doing a missionary scrapbook book. I love all your ideas, and since you served a mission, you would be great at that. Just an idea. Also, do you ever talk to YW groups? We would love to hae you come and talk to our girls! Thanks again, and you are my American Idol!

Hi Lisa!
Next time you're in the area, stop by Galesburg, Illinois. We're about an hour and half from Nauvoo. Our big claim to fame is poet Carl Sandburg and Knox College, the last site of a Lincoln and Douglas debate. I'll give you a guided tour of my town and treat to lunch!
Lisa: You brought back memories of high school 30 years ago. My Mormon friend took me with her family to Nauvoo to see City of Joseph which was written by one of the members of their stake here in St. Louis. (supposedly) Anyway, during that summer's production, the Osmonds were in it, which was a thrill to see. Thanks for the memories.
Kathy
Hi Lisa,
I just got my own website up today and would love it if you would stop by and give me any suggestions you have www.ctrnbrown.com. Hope your having a great time and all is well with the family.
God bless,
Catrina Brown
Hey, missed your show on QVC last weekend! What a bummer! My grandma turned 102 yrs old, had an awesome open house for her!
Question: How do I get the 4th of the series (A year in review) of your favorite album? I got 1,2,3, and QVC can't get me #4. The box is missing it's last album. I see you still have them showing here...is it available thru you??
Let me know svdpbkpr@sbcglobal.net
Thanks!
Bless you!
Jana
How neat to see something written about Nauvoo!
I grew up in a small Iowa town about about an hour away from Nauvoo. We used to go there on school trips, about once a year as a family and I saw "City of Joseph" quite a few times.
I so wish I knew YOU were going to be there. I would have went and stalked the city for you. hee hee
Love your blog!
Alicia
