Silhouette Examples

Hey all! Just thought I'd give you a peek at pages created with the fabulous Silhouette. This tool is amazing! I love the versatility of being able to cut any of my fonts in whatever size I need. It makes creating pages a snap! And did I mention cutting vinyl? I'm so excited to put this "Bearnson, est. 1989" up on my wall. It's over four feet long and 14" high (total). Tune in with me on Tuesday, August 14 at 12:01 a.m. and see it in action!

I have the silhouette and just got it installed. I had to wait for the Vista compatible driver. Now I haven't a clue how to use it. I'm a hands on kind of girl and really need to be shown instead of written instructions. I hope you plan on demoing it. :o)

I'm excited to see you demo this! Thanks for sharing the examples. Where do you buy the long strips of vinyl to use in this so I can make something similar to the family name example you showed? Also, how can I get a replacement piece for the All About Me kit? I've called QVC and CK customer service both twice and requested the piece and not once have I received it. Thanks for your help!

Lisa,

Which font did you use to make your "family name" wall cling?

Wow, It is very expensive. I hope it is like all of the other electronics--how they get cheaper the longer they are out. My twins take all the cash nowadays on their diapers and formula!! 8-)
I will watch in awe of all the girls who can afford it. I was hoping that it was a few hundred dollars cheaper. ;-(

Okay, I googled the vinyl and can't find it. (Yeah, I caved and bought one with my new kitchen cabinet/birthday money!) You are so fun to watch! And way too energetic at that time in the morning! ;)

I did not get the Silhouette today, but I think this is the first time you have been on that I did not get the TSV. But boy did I really go to town on the Hot Picks. Today has been good and bad. Had a horrible headache, but you can watch Craft Day with sunglasses on. ?? Also, this is my first Craft Day, that I will not have to explain my purchases to my husband when they start coming in. He passed away last November. Like I said a good and a bad day. Thanks for making my life better for showing me how to save the great memories that I have of my dear husband,

Just a question for you - Why are you recommending this electronic die cut machine over some of the others? I have a Cricut and love it, but have never seen it used it any of the layouts in CK magazine. I was just wondering why?

Thanks!

Oh wow...it's me again. I read further and I see that it is not compatible with a Macintosh. Do you know any way around this or are there going to be future releases with a universal Silhouette?

Thanks,

Lisa, where would we go to buy the paper mache letters that spelled the word "GIVE" in your segment with Jill on QVC yesterday. Would love to do some fall and christmas things with those. Thanks, Renee

Hey Lisa!

This Silhouette looks like fun and I think the QVC deal was pretty good, so I caved big time! :) I'm really looking forward to playing with it.

I enjoyed the Bearnson sign you made, too. When we redo my kids' rooms in a year or so, I may have to "adapt" that idea! :)

Have a safe trip back home!

God Bless,
Colleen

I also want to know about the vinyl. I too googled it and can not find it. I have ordered the Silhouette and can't wait to get it! Kathy

I prefer the Craft Robo. With the Silhouette you're limited to only cutting the shapes that you download from Quickutz. With the Craft Robo, you can turn any JPG into a cuttable file. You're not limited in what you can cut.

I too want to know about the vinyl. Also, what font did you do you name in. That is too cool.

We have the new Xyron Wishblade and am going to do some projects using the cutout as templates. All three of the machines (Silhouette, Wishblade and Craft Robo) are essentially the same machines. I liked the fact that the Xyron is Mac compatible with out having to use Adobe Illustrator like the Silhouette.

would also love to know which font you used for your family sign.

Hello,

I read in a comment that with the Silhouette you are commited to the shapes of download from Quickutz. But that is not quite right. Because I have spoken to a scrapbooker and he made a shape/logo (some kind of swirl) in a designing programme put it in a jpg-format and the Silhouette cutted it perfectly. So good he cutted it on a special plastic for on his car (as a firm logo).

Just wanted to let you know!

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Inge

I missed the presentation of the Silhouette on TV ... and by the time I was able to get to the shows the tool was on backorder. I know that my hubby ordered it and it was on backorder as well ... but he left it on as a ship when it's received in the warehouse. My question is will this product cut through felt or cloth? The vinyl sounds very interesting as well ... how cool to cut words out for dorm rooms (my DD goes to college in just a week). I'd love to see a replay of your presentation ... will it be available anywhere online? Thanks Lisa!

We loved watching, Lisa!!

I LOVE all the examples - but especially the family name! Can you tell us the font used for Bearnson? I watched everyminute I could on Tuesday - it was such a great day and I worked on my layouts as I drooled over all the cool QVC offers.
Thanks Lisa!

Had so much fun watching you on QVC. DVR'd it, so I've watched about 2 trillion times! You're soooooooo cute!
QUESTION: We're going on a trip at the end of September...our first ever trip...other than up the coast and JUST SAW your TRAVEL KIT f/July. It would be so perfect! I had previously purchased your 4 kit auto delivery..Me, My family, etc. and they were soooo cool, was wondering if there was any way you had any of those left over? You could pm me at kathitownz@yahoo.com if you had the time.
Love your work and what you've done for scrapbooking...and NO, that isn't a kissy, kissy!!! :)

Hi Lisa...I loved your 'Bearnson, est 1989' so much that I made one for my family with our last name. I don't have a Quickutz Silhouette of course but I made mine on cardstock & put it in a frame which now sits on a lovely little easel in a niche that I didn't know what to do with. Thanks for your inspiration & for sharing your idea. :)
