Tulsa, OK Contest Results!
The "Who I Saw in Tulsa, Oklahoma" contest is officially over. Two of you got the answer completely right (you'll get $75.00 of products) and eight of you were very close so you'll get the $50.00 of products.
Before I reveal the answer, I have to admit to being shocked that Garth and Trisha live near Tulsa. For some reason I thought they were in Nashville. This answer was the most popular but not correct. Maybe next time--I'd love to go to dinner with them!! Also, did Mitt Romney used to live in OK?? Also Dr. Phil?
So for the correct answer! First, let me tell you about my experience. I was at the Tulsa Creating Keepsakes Convention last weekend when a sweet lady (Sheryl Kloehr--she and her hubby are in the second photo) asked me to appear on a Christian television program called "Make Your Day Count." She then started telling me about the scrapbook room in her home and it sounded so amazing I knew I had to see it. She invited me to her home the next evening (along with Paper Crafts Pro Sue Neal). Friday night came and I was sicker than a dog. I had the worst stomach ache and knew I couldn't go to Sheryl's house feeling so lousy. However, that amazing scrapbook room was beguiling me plus she'd invited a couple over to meet us so I went ahead and made the trip to her house. Upon entering the door I got very sick and spent some time in the lady's room. I then went to the main room to meet Sheyl's husband and the couple they'd invited over--Richard and Lindsay Roberts (Oral Roberts son and daughter-in-law).

Richard is the President of Oral Roberts University and Oral Roberts Ministries and is a televangelist. He took over his father's duties 15 years ago when he retired. Lindsay hosts "Make Your Day Count" and has many other duties at the univerisity and in the ministry. While chatting with them, I got sick again. After another trip to the restroom, Richard, Lindsay and Sheryl were so kind and said a beautiful prayer asking that I be healed. I was very touched by their concern, genuine nature and strong faith. And--how many people can say that Richard Roberts prayed for them in person!?! Wow!
So--the famous couple I met in Tulsa, Oklahoma was Richard and Lindsay Roberts. We had an evening of wonderful conversation and they gave Sue and myself a personal tour of Oral Roberts University (very impressive). They were down to earth, friendly and the real deal. LOVED meeting them and I'm excited to appear on Lindsay's show.
So--there is is in a nutshell.
Thanks for playing. It's always fun to read your answers. And thanks, Sheryl, for the lovely evening.

Hi Lisa,
I guessed Mitt & Ann Romney, thinking that maybe Tulsa was a recent campaign stop... anything is possible! :-)
I have an apology to make. In Tulsa on Saturday, I was buzzing around the vendor floor, looking for my friend whom I had lost (and who left her mobile phone at home. .. egads!) I walked right in front of you, between you and the next Tulsa scrapper who was waiting to meet you. I didn't realize until I blew through and someone said, "Oh my!" or something about my rudeness, that I was interupting something. Sorry to you and your admirers! I really was worried I wouldn't find my friend in time for our class. (Happy ending - we found one another and enjoyed our time with Brenda Arnall. She's a gem!)

I'm so excited. I can't believe I won. I love Richard and Lindsey, I've actually been to that campus for a womens conference. It's a beautiful place. Great people.

Lisa,
I have to admit I am sorry that I did not win but I am more concerned about you. I am hoping that you are feeling better now.
What a neat experience you had, even being sick. I am sure that who you met and that prayer made it all worth it.
Thanks again for sharing with us. Better luck next time for me.
Katherine
No details about the scraproom?
Hope you are feeling better!
Thanks, Lisa! Sorry you were ill during your visit :(
Cindy B.

Just wanted to say thanks for challenging us with your contests.
Even though I have never won I always have a great time participating.
I hope your feeling better, seems like when you were on QVC for the craft day I got a sense that you weren't feeling to well then, so I hope things are okay. Could you by any chance be pregnant? LOL
I have never heard of either one of them OR the university! lol Glad you're feeling better.
Hi Lisa - just wanted to share a LO I did after meeting you in Holland back in May - it was the best ever meeting you and taking your class! Maybe I'll catch up with you again one day - so in this instance it was "Who did I meet? Lisa Bearnson ;-) "

Is that a menorah on the fireplace ? Found that a odd thing for these folks to have in there home?
maybe the scraproom pixs will be in a future "CK" article??? Can't wait!
Sorry you were sick. It was sure nice of them to pray over you(hope your feeling better)!
Yeah, I thought it was a long shot Tiger Woods would hang out for another week after winning there the week before! hee.hee. What an uplifting experience with the Roberts'. They sound like terrific people. Sorry to hear you were sick--that's one you won't ever forget! :B Have a good long weekend and take care!
Oh my goodness!! I am so VERY excited that I won. THANK YOU!! Since I read that I won I've being repeating over and over how excited I am. My son has been telling everyone about how I was one of the winners of this "famous lady named Lisa's contest about a famous person she met" I guess you could say the "famous" thing has been played forward with my family because in this house Lisa Bearnson is famous! Thank you again & I hope you are feeling much better now! Tracy Dayett (jdayett@nctv.com)

Lisa, I was wondering if you could give instructions on how to do the vinyl wall design like the one you made that was four feet long and 14" high (total). high (total)?
I watched you on QVC and bought the Silhouette. However, I had to go back to work and couldn't watch the entire show. Thanks! Teresa Young in Duncan,Oklahoma.
Hope you're feeling better, Lisa. I love the t-shirt you're wearing in the photo. Are they available for sale to those of us who could not attend?
Tell us about the scrapbook room!
Hi Lisa
Hope you are feeling better!
Congratulations to the winners! Enjoy your prizes!!
Have a great Holiday Weekend!
Cindy
could you please add a contents list to the KOTM so we can read everything that is included?
Hi Lisa! I am a huge fan. I am always intrigued when I hear you talk of your faith or your involvement with different ministries. I was wondering what faith you are. I know this may seem a strange question, but growing up without a religious family or church in my life has sent me on a quest to find my relationship with Him and and improve my life. You can email me at viseurfamily@yahoo.com. Thanks so much!
Wow, how exciting that I won! My best friend went to Oral Roberts University, so they were the first people I thought of when you said Tulsa. It is a beautiful campus. This was my first time to enter your contests or read your blog, so thanks again.

I love your stories about your life and your family, however, you need to check your usage of me and myself. I think you are an example to all of us and you need to guide and lead by correct English usage! The world is going to Hell in a handbag morally, politically and scholastically and we need mentors. Thanks, Gayle
