My Addiction Revealed!
Loved reading all your comments about my quirky addiction. I got a laugh out of some of your guesses. I've never drank a sip of coffee in my life, I don't own a Blackberry, I have a hard time checking my e-mails because I get so many of them and I rarely drink soda because I don't like carbonation.
There were some that were close. I am a listmaker--but not addicted to it. I also love chocolate but don't have to have it everyday. I do wipe down my counters with white cloroxed dish clothes (how did you know that? amazing)! but not addicted to it.
Okay--with that being said, here is my addiction (which many of you answered correctly!).

Yep--I'm totally addicted to chewing ice! As we speak, I have a glass right next to my computer. It can't be regular ice. I fill a glass full of crushed ice and water, then let it sit for around 30 minutes (until it becomes soft and easy to chew). I have a glass first thing in the morning, several throughout the day, then one every night when I take a bubble bath. Yesterday I looked at the counter and saw three glasses of ice on the counter ("waiting" to become soft). That's when I realized that I'M ADDICTED!! I've taken iron pills before but it doesn't seem to help. Lucky for me it only bothers Steve when I'm driving with him in the car.

Please send your snail mail addresses to Angela at angeladash@gmail.com. I'll get the Ali kit sent right to you. If you won the "Steve's adventure" contest, please know the stamp kits were sent today.
I'm off to Southern Utah for Fall Break (three days off from school). We're going biking, four wheeling, to the BYU vs. UNLV football game (in Las Vegas), eating lots of great food, watching movies, playing games and reading! It will be a nice break.
Have a great rest of the week as well.
Sincerely,
Lisa B.

Whoopee! Thanks, Lisa. I guess it pays to listen very well in your class. Btw, I enjoyed so much your Book of Lists class. Up to this day, the album that I made is still my favorite.
Woo hoo! I'm so excited! I used to chew ice as well...in fact, I craved it! Drove my husband nuts. Iron pills didn't help me, either. I'm not sure what finally made the cravings go away.
Congrats to all the winners. ¥
Congrats to the winners!! It was fun to watch this!!
Lisa, if you love soft ice, surely you have tried ice from SONIC! Even if you don't like carbonation, get a diet cherry vanilla coke with ice filled up to the top...there is so little soda in the cup and the ice is divine...Starla
Lisa, if you love soft ice, surely you have tried Sonic! If not, (and if you can tolerate a little carbonation) get a diet cherry vanilla coke with ice to the top of the cup...so little soda but enough to give that soft ice some flavor! Sooooo good! Starla
My Mom has that same addiction!! How funny! I've heard that it means you have a lack of vitamin if you crave ice! Too Funny!

Hey Lisa sorry about the mix up, the anonymous is the same person as sandy52372@yahoo.com. I had forgotten to put my name on there.Sorry for the mix up, but hey thanks I won. And as for the time, it was 6 something my time..thanks again. Sandy
Hi Lisa!
I guessed right - yeah me! Just not quick enough! Congrats winners!!
I also craved ice and found out my iron was at only a 7!! Yikes! Still love ice even though my iron level is back to normal!
Glad Collin had a great birthday!!! I found that restaurant online and the view out the window looks like something out of a fairy tale! Beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Lisa, I just read your blog and my SIL had the same problem with the addiction to ice. You should definitely see a specialist. Once she saw a Hemotologist, he increased her iron intake and she eventually stopped eating the crushed ice. It's terrible for your teeth too. Have a great weekend...
Lisa,
Could you do a contest and draw names instead of taking the quickest responders? We don't all have unlimited access to the computer. I was hoping this contest was a draw as it didn't specify the first would be the winners. Thanks!
Also Sonic ice is to DIE for! Plus you can buy it by the bag for like 99 cents and take it home to enjoy! Diet Cherry Limeade!
Lisa, you are too funny! I love how you have a picture of your "addiction!" I would have to have a picture of a candy bar, because that's mine!!
I used to chew ice, until I broke one of my molars all the way down to the root. After intense pain, $800.00, and several hours in the dentist's chair, I'm cured!
Now I just must find the cure for my chocolate addiction (must have multiple times daily).
Ha, My Dh chews ice too! I wouldn't say he is addicted to it. It's just something he does when he runs outta the soda or whatever he is drinking.
My addiction is coffee! Lets just say I keep Starbucks and Caribou in business!!! I'm bad! If I don't spend all my money on those expensive coffee's....I am brewing a 10 cup at home for myself. Worse part is...I use to never like coffee. Don't ever start on the coffee...once you do it's all over! ha ha ha
Congrats to all the winners! I am going to buy the KOTM(ali kit)....it just looks like so much fun. Why not right? I won the KOTM for Dec. so the money I save I can buy the OCt kit. Good reasoning right? hay hay hay!
PS-Enjoy your fall break!
Thanks for the fun Contest, Lisa!
I agree with the comment for todays post that it would be fair to those of us that don't have access to a computer all the time to draw from all the correct answers. My husband takes this computer with him to work! I have a very limited scrapbooking budget, and winning a prize from you would make me so HAPPY!
Thank you for considering selecting the winners this way...I realize it means more work for you, but I think it would be more fair to all the players.
Thank you for having the vision and bravery to create CK-I look forward to every issue, keep them and refer to them. Love that Mag. !!!
Have a great day...Erin : )
I'm sitting here chewing ice while I am reading this! I have the same addiction. I also wait for my ice to get soft and chewy! hee hee
Boy, I would love it if you would put a date on it, and draw names too. I have guessed correctly several times, but am always very very late because I work and can't get on at work.
Lisa,
I am totally addicted to Ice too!!! I don't have any trouble getting my 64 oz of water in during the day, because I always have a big glass of Ice water with me, even in the car.
So glad to hear I am not the only one like me.

Thank you Lisa! I'm so excited, I can't believe I finally won one of your contests! It made my day when I realised I'd won! It goes to show that paying attention in class has its rewards, I remember you saying that you chewed on ice in your little book of lists online class. Which by the way I loved. Such a fab project.
Ali's kit is gorgeous, I was going to buy it but me and my fiance are in the process of buying our first home together. Very exciting but very expensive! The subject matter has a special place in my heart as my mom was critically ill 4 years ago, it was touch and go for awhile but she fought with strength and courage and pulled through. I don't know what I would do without her. So I will write about this and dedicate the completed kit to her. My fiance's father has also struggled with cancer on and off for many years. So if any left over materials I will make another book dedicated to him and the courage he has shown.
Thank you for your generosity Lisa and giving me the chance to make this kit in honour of two people who inspire me with their approach to life's challenges.
Katrina xx
Thanks for including people without having to include email--I don't like to include mine because it uses my name. I know that I need to get another one that is more generic! I have sent my addy to angela---Thanks for the contest. I think that however you choose to draw winners is up to you---with over 200 entries it would get overwhelming.
Rosie
Funny! But you do know that is not good for your teeth! Talk to your dentist - my dh got in big trouble with ours for doing it. ~Tanya
I am an ice chewer too. In our city the top two places for good chewy ice (My favoite) is a place called Parkers and of course Sonic. You may like this website. Serious business... ice chewing.

You and my sister. And my 5 year old too! I feel sorry for your friends and family who have to listen to you crunch ice over the phone the whole time you talk to them! (I don't know if you do that, but my sister does it all the time.) DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! Makes me cringe just thinking she's gonna break a tooth, but she says her ice maker doesn't harden the ice all the way, so it's soft. Y'all need to invest in a soft ice machine!!! ha.ha. Have fun this weekend!!!
For some odd reason, I remember you mentioning that somewhere...
Hi my name is Rachel and I'm an Ice a Holic!
Yes I have this craving and YES as I sit here and type this so does my huge cup of ice. LOVE THE STUFF. I didn't start craving it until I became pregnant which I still am but your not alone in your eating soft ice world. :) Just had to put in my 2 cents as I thought this post was too funny. I may have to blog my ice addiction on my blog as well. :) Enjoy your break away from everything!

Okay, I wanna know more about the cloroxed dish towels??
Congrats on the winners!
Lisa have fun with your family during your mini-break.
Have a nice weekend,

Lisa,
Have you had Hospital Ice. oh, that is the good stuff.
Lisa,
I SO regret that I have just discovered your BLOG! It's so sweet of you to share yourself with us. I have wanted to meet you and get to know you for quite a while. I actually feel like your blog enables us to get to know you (even if it's limited). I was sorry that you couldn't come to CKU-Nashville.
I definitely would have guessed your habit because my Dad, my sister, my son (Austin...he turned 14 in June), and I have the same habit. According to my sources, the only problem with the ice-chewing habit is the potential to crack your teeth.
Now that your son has turned 14, he will point out other "habits" that you NEVER knew you had! I swear I can't even BREATHE right any more.
If the ice chewing is your WORST habit, you are MILES ahead of the rest of us. Just don't be surprised when your son comes up with new, sudden "compliments"!
Do you mind giving me some ice chewing advice? Do you use the crushed ice option on your fridge? If so, what do you do when the ice stops tasting good? I know the water filter needs to be changed, but I have gotten so many different answers, I don't know what to do! I've heard it's really difficult to change the filter. Do you know anything about it?
Thanks again for sharing. I still hope to actually meet you one day.
Laura (berrybest1)
I was late again !!!! LOL :) That would hurt my teeth :(

Lisa, just picked up the CK issue and I LOVE IT. Great pictures and ideas. Off to scrap some and thanks for keeping me up to date!
WOW this is too funny!! My daughter does the same thing! Drives me nuts! LOL Then my little one has to copy her big sister! LOL
You've been tagged!! :D
Ha ha! I'm not laughing at you, but with you...Has it made it into a layout yet? Mine ice addiction did:
http://gauchogirl.blogspot.com/2007/05/ice-ice-baby.html
Harder for me though as I don't have an ice maker...lots of trips the gas station soda fountain!
tonya
My son chews ice all day. He reaches in the freezer, usually drops a few on the floor then bites down. It drives me crazy!
You are amazing... what a great contest. I need to pay more attention and guess one of these times!
Thank you for being so generous with these kits!
Do they have a Sonic where you live? They have the best ice and you can buy bags of it!! I love ice too >"<
I am so glad you finally told us. I was waiting on pins and needles. Your life is so interesting..
I am laughing! When we were first married (1991) my husband would see an empty glass on the counter and figure I was done and TOSS OUT THE ICE! It only took him a few ice-toss maneuvers to figure out that that was the WRONG THING TO DO. I mean, the ice had just got soft enough to chew! I'm with you, Lisa!
Lisa, you are so awesome. I just received my stamp set that is the December kit of the month. Anyone that can buy this I can tell you it is so great. I played with it for a minute but can't wait to make a page with it. The stamps are large and chunky and so much of a variety it is just great. Thank you so much you do so much good for so many and I appreciate these very much. Eloise@standworld.com
I had it right...we share the same addiction. I was just too far down the line of correct guessers. The ice has to be soft!
are you iron deficient???? ice craving is a sign of that! michelle, internist
