What a Wonderful Weekend!

First of all, again a huge thanks for all the stickers sent to Brian. His sister made this sweet comment:

Lisa,
I am Brian's younger sister. I also live right in Highland. My mom called me on Thursday and told me of the wonderful Valentine's Day Brian had received! I was absolutely thrilled. Very rarely does Brian get attention, and to be noticed in such a NICE way was really special. Thank you so much for being so great. Thanks for taking the time to touch someone's life. I know this means so much to him.
Love,
Jamie Hofheins

Last night was an incredible evening. Collin received his Eagle Scout Award at a wonderful Court of Honor and it was an evening to be remembered. Here is a photo of him with a live bald eagle! Way to go, Collin!

Also, I've had the pleasure of having a wonderful gal stay with our family over the past four days.

Gladys and I met on a Carribean scrapbooking cruise and became instant friends. She's from Brooklyn, New York and came all the way across the USA to stay with the Bearnson gang. We loved it. I love how scrapbooking connects all of us to each other. We miss you, Gladys!

Last week my super spontaneous hubby packed all the kids in the car and drove 10 hours to Disneyland to hang out with me while I was at CHA. This was a total surprise right up until the moment they left. (He did the same thing last year but had no idea he'd do it again.) How sweet that they wanted to be there with me! (And the kids were pretty excited about missing a few days of school too.) I flew the next day and was able to hang out with them at Disneyland for two nights. As I mentioned in my last entry, my family got stuck in the bad storm but made it home safely.

This photo is pretty cool. Can you see what's unusual about it??

Yep--Mickey's ears are perfect placed around Steve's head!

I'm scrapbooking up a storm this week (I'll share a few of my layouts later in the week), plus I'm getting ready to go to CKU Japan. I'm a little stressed out--I just check my passport last night and discovered it expired a few months ago. Luckily we discovered that you can expedite the process.

Hope you're having a great week. We went to the Spiderwick Chronicles today and it was really good!

Lisa,

Love the mickey ears - too funny! Glad to hear everyone made it back safely too!

Pardon my mushiness but I really just wanted to commend you - I met you a couple years ago at the Buffalo convention, watch you on TV, and always check out your blog. You really inspire me and I wanted you to know that. I have absolutely NO idea how you balance so much so successfully and how you always have time for someone in need. I can't tell you how many times I have read your blog and tears of joy stream down my face when you touch my heart ... because you are touching someone elses. You remind me constantly of what is important in life and the values I want and need to show my own children. So - the kids and I are going to be sending out some stickers today ... just got back in town myself and just read the blog.

Thank you so much !!

Hi Lisa - It sounds like you guys had an AWESOME time! LOVE the Mickey ears on Steve!!! He must be thrilled!!! I recently heard you talk about your two favorite quotes "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice" and "No other success can compensate for failure in the home" - I love them! I am having them made into signs for my home...thanks for the inspiration!!

Congratulations to your son and the entire family. As another scouting mother I realize the work and joy experienced by everyone in the family We have received so much joy from this organization.

I was showing your post to my son and he wondered what Collin's eagle project was.

Hi Lisa,
Glad the family got home safely and you enjoyed your visit with Gladys. Hopefully, Brian has received his stash of stickers from our home. (The ice storm last week delayed my mailing them out).
We recently got passports for our boys and received themin less than two weeks (and that was not expedited choice) so I think you'll be just fine in getting your passport in time. Good luck! Can't wait to see your sb l/o's!

CONGRATULATIONS COLLIN on achieving Eagle Scout!!! That's quite and honor!!! It seems like just last week, Kade was getting his too. Lisa and Steve, y'all are doing something right! (Forget Brittany Spears' mom writing a book on raising children... laugh!). You're the authority! hee.hee Love the mountains in the backdrop. Do you ever get "used" to seeing that everyday? Cannot image living in the midst of such perfection! As much as you travel, I'm sure you do appreciate it. Speaking of travel, glad the family is back safe from their hair-raising adventure! Just think, your ancestors had to do that in covered wagons! OY!!!

Love the Mickey ears in the photo, but what I really noticed was how big brother Kade is protecting his two sisters. What a great photo!

My 15 year old is a hair away from Eagle, all his requirements are done and he just needs to tighten up his package and submit it. I'd love to see any of your Scouting pages.

Glad Brian had a great day, I mentioed in an earlier post we should make it a valentine's tradition. Of course he probably has enough stickers for awhile, but mail, and making someones day is fun!

Congrats Collin! what a great experience. Lisa, you were missed at CHA, I saw you walking the aisles but there wasn't a time for autographs. Last year you were so gracious to me and the girls from my store. We just wanted to express our appreciation. We did love the new magazine that is coming out and loved meeting Steph! CK Media rocks!!!

HI Lisa,

This is unrealated to this post but I wanted to ask you a question. When do you usually post the next month's kit of the month? I am on a budget, and really love the kits, so it would be helpful to me if I knew what it was ahead of time so that I would know if I had to budget it in. Thanks!
