Back to Reality!!
It has been a few weeks since I've posted. We've been on a major vacation and now it's back to reality--laundry, laundry and more laundry, work deadlines, cooking dinner, football practices, etc. What a great time we had!
If you've never been to Ocean City, NJ, you must go! What an amazing place! We stayed at a beautiful condo (thanks, Ellie!) two blocks from the beach and boardwalk. We had a blast playing in the sand, catching the rays and body surfing. This photo captures a perfect moment in time.

Also, how darling is this? My coworker, Kim, came to the beach for a day with her daughter, Morgan. We couldn't believe Sage and Morgan had matching swimming suits on!

We rented bikes for the week and loved riding around the island on our cruisers.

Loved meeting fellow scrapbooker, Therese, and her family in Ocean City!
We also went to my friend's brother's Barmitzvah celebration on her dad's private beach. Wow--total celebrating in style.

We went to NYC for a day and toured the city and went to Mary Poppins. I highly recommend this Broadway play--excellent!

The boys had to come home after a week for football practice and a Especially For Youth conference with our church. The girls and I went on to Baltimore to visit Amy Ketron and her family.
We dressed like this when we went to the most famous cafe in Baltimore--Cafe Hon.

Elementary school kids had made self portraits like these all over the restaurant. Very clever!

Loved meeting all the scrapbookers at ScrapMasters in Bel Air, Maryland (this is the coolest store with a cafe inside it--you must go). Also all the croppers at the television station the next day.
Our last stop was in Lancaster where we stayed with two old-order Amish families. Brecken stayed with the Riehl's and Sage and I stayed with my dear friend Barbara Fisher. It was cute--I went to check on Brecken one day and she had Amish clothes on, they'd done her hair in Amish rolls in a bun and she was out milking the cows and sweeping up manure. What an experience. I celebrated Rumspringer with Elmer Lee (Barbara's 16-year-old son) which was a once in a lifetime experience.
Loved meeting Christina--another fellow scrapbooker--in Lancaster.
Well--I'd better go put my third to the last load of laundry in.
I have a busy week next week--Backyard Adventures with Lisa Bearnson and CKU. Hope to see you there.
Enjoy the last month of summer.
Lisa B.

I live at the Jersey Shore it is beautiful here! I'll be down near Ocean City on Saturday. It's nice to have people talk about the beautiful places in NJ and not just the airport! lol

Hi Lisa,
I really enjoyed meeting you at the book signing. Your daughters are so sweet. My two sons so enjoyed meeting Sage and Brecken. I cannot believe how patient they were.It was well worth the wait! Love the book. Its one evening we'll remember for years to come. THank you so much for being so nice to take the time to talk to us all. Scrapmasters is awesome! Take care. We are off to The Adoroniaks soon. any suggestions to keep a 5 and 7 year old boys busy on a 8 hour car ride? Maryellen
What a great time you had. I grew up in Lancaster and my paternal grandparents were Amish and left the church when they got married. I have experienced the Rumspringe and there really is no words to really explain it. Did you go to a "hop"? You will know what that word means if you did! HA Thanks for sharing the cute photos.
Sounds like you guys had a fabulous time with all your travels. Did you do this much traveling when the kids were younger. We're about to embark on a family adventure next week driving 1100 miles to my BIL's wedding & then 1100 miles back with a 6, 4, & 1 yr old. I'm praying for patience for all of us, creative games to play when boredom sets in & restful sleep for all of us in all the different hotels we have to stay at. Can't wait to see family we haven't seen in 5 yrs though. SO excited about that!
Lisa, what a wonderful time you all had!! How amazing to stay with the Amish families...love that.:)
Love,
Les

Wow you had a great vacation! Good for you. Those pictures are super fun too, can't wait to see what you do with them. I have a quicky question... Do you know when the stamp sets are being shipped out??? Thanks, Leisha
So sorry I missed you in Bel Air - I'm only about 45 minutes north in PA. About 1/2 hour south of QVC and 2 1/2 hours west of Ocean City and 30 minutes outside of Lancaster....maybe I'll run into you one of these days! :) Hope so...:)
Did you have a blast at Cafe Hon?? The big Pink Flamingo gets me everytime...LOL I am from Baltimore, Hampden to be exact, and it is funny to see Cafe Hon where a jewelery store use to be...LOL
Blessings,
Ronnie
Hi Lisa - Just checking in to see how your Adventures went...I believe they were last week. Can't wait to get an update and see some photos!!
I have the SAME cami as the girl who is in the picture with you in sequin cami. Ok, while I am well aware (being in the fashion retail industry) that it's not crazy for two people to have the same top, this one is from Italy and pretty pricey. Crazy. Plus, I never look at blogs to begin with so to see someone in my top..wow!
