Whew! What a Week!
Hello Everyone!
Long time, no write! Life has been coming at me fast--so busy, busy, busy. Last week was amazing! It started early Monday morning with a hike up to Timp Cave (so proud of you gals and Michael--not an easy hike!), a tour of Temple Square and a walk around Thanksgiving Point Gardens with several scrapbookers who'd come in for the Lisa Bearnson Adventure. We then started out early Tuesday morning with bus tours to Making Memories, Rusty Pickle, Scenic Route Paper Company and Creating Keepsakes. That night we had a fun crop and keynote speech at the Thanksgiving Point barn. Thanks to everyone who came--you truly are "Stargirls" and "Starboys." We are seriously looking at doing it again next year. In fact, we are considering taking it on the road. Shoot me a message if there's a place you'd like us to come. Here are some photos from the event:
This is a photo of my sister, Angela, and my boss, Dave. Both were guides on the tour.

Here is my dear friend, Pam Gebhardt, who has been so supportive since day one of Creating Keepsakes.

Wednesday night I had the pleasure of hosting the Scrapbooker of the Year bash. All five of the finalists were simply amazing. I loved meeting each one of them.

Mandy Douglas was crowned the 2008 Scrapbooker of the Year. Here Brian and I hand her the $10,000.00 check. When asked what she was going to do with the money she said: "My hubby and I are going to have some fun!"

Next it was off to CKU-Provo. A bunch of my friends came to this event (from all over--Italy, New Zealand, Illinois and Montana). Everyone LOVES the new CKU format. You must join us at one of these events!

Now it's back to reality--my kids are going back to school next Monday and we've got to get some school shopping done. I'm sad--the summer has gone so fast. The boys are busy with football practice. Kade has been going to practice two to three times a day.
Just a few other things. You might be lucky enough to find a Creating Keepsakes Golden Ticket!

There are a bunch randomly placed in the kit of the month for this month (August), as well as the upcoming September and October kits. If you receive a golden ticket in a kit that you order, you will win all sorts of prizes like all the latest and greatest CK books and the CKU in a Box kit. Plus, you'll be entered to win the ultimate prize--a trip for two to Utah for three days and two nights. You'll tour the CKMedia office, spend an afternoon with me (I'll even show you my scrapbook room), get a sneak peak of upcoming kits we're working on, meet the editors and even get all of the 2009 kits of the month for free!
Also, I hope you've taken the opportunity to get the August Kit of the Month.

My friend, Dana Lyman, came up with the concept for the Photo Folders and they are brilliant. This kit allows you to scrapbook an entire year in just a few hours. Talk about great presentation! These 8x8 "scrapbooks" come in two different styles that fold up neatly and store in a cute little magazine holder. You’ll get all sorts of goodies to create fun scrapbooks— from double-sided cardstock to creative tags to fabulous transparencies. The possibilities are endless . . . and you’ll have plenty left over to play with on other projects too! Give them as a gift to a grandparent, create an album for each child, or scrapbook a trip and display them on your coffee table. You can even display individual albums like a picture frame!
Hope you're enjoying the last few weeks of summer.
Sincerely,
Lisa

Lisa- I came down from Grantsville for your keynote speech and I have to tell you that I had a wonderful time. I am going to get a copy of "Stargirl" for all of my girlfriends and get them as excited about it as I am now. I have been telling everyone about my fabulous night. Meeting you truly was neater than meeting Hannah Montana...shh don't tell my daughter. Thanks, Lisa Geldmacher
Dear Lisa:
Great that all went well! Do you think you can plan something like Lisa's Great Adventure on the East coast? there are so many of us in NJ who can't go to the heartland to see you; I am sure you know that with how successful your QVC scrap days are! Please don't forget us gals here!
Have a Blessedday,
Rosa.

Lisa,
please let us know the dates for next year ASAP as i was in Salt Lake right before your event for the SU! convention and I could not change my travel plans without a large expense. I'm sure there are many more SU! hobbyists and scrapbookers/papercrafters that would love to roll this into one big event . Next year the SU! convention is Aug 5-9 i think at the Salt Palace. :)
Hi Lisa,
It sounds like everyone had a great time. I was very disappointed that I couldn't attend. I do wish you would come out to New Jersey or somewhere in this area for the next one. I know many people in this area would love to attend.
Have a great day!

Illinois! A great adventure in Illinios! The summer HAS gone by way too quickly! My girls and I have already been to the Junior High to set up their lockers. They also started marching band camp today. Where does the time go?
Well, my scrapbooking budget doesn't have any room for the KOTM this month, but maybe next month! Can't wait to see what it is. The golden tickets sound amazing! The recipients of those are sure going to be LUCKY!
Good luck with back-to-school in the Bearnson house!
Wow! I just got my kit yesterday. I have to double check it. I only browsed through it.
Hi Lisa,
This sounds like an amazing opportunity. I do hope that you will plan another event next year or sooner - I would be more than happy to travel! Visiting CK would be a dream come true!
Can't wait to hear if you do it again!
Take Care,

Lisa,
I would love for you to come to Ohio! Columbus area would be nice since that is only 80 miles east of me...or near the Longaberger Basket area which of course is closer ;-) Like that kit too...may have to consider that one!
Hi Lisa,
I looked all over your site for a link to email you but I don't see one so I'll just ask here...
My family is planning a trip to Hurricane to ride in the corral dunes and I know you and your family ride too so we are hoping you can tell us what to expect in the month of June with the weather.
Are there any other places you would recommend for riding quads and side by sides while we are there?
Thank you!

Hi Lisa! I think you should come to the land of sunshine and beautiful beaches...Honolulu, HI!! :) I moved here 7 months ago and am going thru withdrawals from not being able to attend CKC Portland and Seattle :(
As for the August KOTM, I was thinking about using one for each set of grandparents and great grandparents. I'd like to do some for cousins too as we have a lot and haven't seen them in a few years.
Thanks for the fabulous kit!
xxx Lisa
Congrats to the SOY finalists and woo-hoo Mandy!!!
Love, the Golden Ticket idea...I am going to have to order one...on the other hand, I just got my stamps from you...and I ::LOVE:: them!!!! So cool, so many, so tempting to play with!
Lisa,
I have been dying to know what the name of the book is you shared at your Great Adventure - would you please tell us!?
When is your next QVC day? I feel like it should be about time (wink wink). Let us know so we can plan our schedule ahead of time to devote an entire day to buying scrap supplies! Also, I know you probably don't have much say in CKU dates, but I'd LOVE to have a CKU in June/July in Provo. I go out to UT to visit my family every summer, but school starts the first week of August for us in the South. I always miss it!!! Maybe you should consider Memphis or New Orleans? Hmmm...thanks for listening!
Lisa,
I love, love, love my KOTM. I loved it so much I am going to order more. Good quality stuff in there....awesome fun ahead. Even more excited to order more with that golden ticket idea. Wow. I want to win the grand prize on that one. Just to see your scraproom would be fun. Thank you so much for your inspiration, crafting and spiritual. You would be so much fun to have in the ward. Thanks for everything.
Oh, Lisa--It was so wonderful seeing you AND your family and friends at CKU in Provo. I was so thrilled to get to go to the Stargirl event. PLEASE, PLEASE do the Lisa B Adventures (ESPECIALLY the Factory and CK tour) again next year in Provo . I will make my flight plans a day or two EARLIER next year, so I won't miss out! Thanks for spending a little time with me and Kim, although I know you were being pulled in ALL directions. It was great to see you again... and oh, yes, did I say I am already excited about next year in Provo!???
Smiles, Carol in CA
Was just thinking about ya and wanted to pop in to let you know! Hope all is well. :-)
Lisa,
Would love an opportunity to attend a Lisa Backyard Adventure in Provo next year. Unfortunately I couldn't pull it off because my family and I vacationed in Utah a few weeks prior. I fell in love with it though and would love to come back out and experience the company tours, etc. And maybe there will be another CKU-Provo. Keep them coming and hopefully I can plan ahead and attend. Would love to.
Hi Lisa,
I love your blog! What wonderful ideas and designs. I am going to purchase the August KOTM. And then I saw the April KOTM - I see that it is sold out, but by any slim chance is there a way to purchase the items individually?
I really LOVE everything in the kit and have just recently found your website/blogsite.
Please let me know if any/all of the April kit is available!!!
Thank you
