"Happy Fall" Contest!

Whew! What a busy Labor Day weekend! I got back on Friday from the Creative Photography Retreat in San Jose. What an amazing event. I couldn't believe the time and effort that went into every class--all the fun goodies, not to mention all the expert photographers who were teaching the classes. If you want to go from ho hum pictures to outstanding photos, this is the event for you. Join us in Stamford, Connecticut October 9-11th.

Kade had a big football game on Friday night and Collin also played last week. Both won their games which made for a happy Bearnson house!

Saturday was Steve's parents 50th wedding anniversary. We celebrated it in style at the White House in Bountiful (a beautiful reception center). We had a delicious Hawaiian dinner (thanks, Bamboo Hut), then a tearful program where we reminisced over 50 years of Jim and Rhea Bearnson's lives. Brecken and her cousin, Mallory, sang "For Good" from the musical Wicked--it was the perfect song to end a perfect evening. Just wanted to share a few photos that were taken for this event.

Again, the amazing Robin Johnson took the photos.

Okay--now on to this month's Kit of the Month! It's called Mix it Up and contains the coolest, most happenin' embellishments out there made out of milky-white acetate, foam, raw chipboard and printed chipboard. There are alphabets, arrows, borders, words, bird, house, plane, robot--and the list goes on and on.

Here is a page created by Allison Davis (I just want to hang this in my house!).

Here's how the acetate comes:

Also the printed chipboard:

Check out Loni Stevens and Kerri Bradford's blogs for more cool examples of the September Kit of the Month.

Also, I'm giving away 10 of these kits on this site. Just leave a "Happy Fall" thought by Friday Sept. 5th (midnight) and I'll randomly choose 10 winners on Saturday!

Have a great Wednesday.

Fall is when the weather starts to cool down here in Phoenix. My kids are outside every day and my favorite is Trick-or-Treating in sandals/flip-flops. We still have a few more weeks of hot and humid here in Kansas - but I'm starting to pull out the long sleeve shirts, pullovers, sweats and jeans in preparation. This is my first year to have both children in school all day - so getting lots of organizing, cleaning and scrapbooking done!

OMGoodness Lisa, those photos are AMAZING! That hand photo with the wedding rings makes me want to cry tears of happiness! That is so gorgeous! Congratulations to them! It's amazing, I feel like I know your parents from seeing them on so many layouts throughout the years in CK magazine, but I'm not sure how many times I've seen your in-laws! They're so cute!

Your new kit looks AMAZING! No surprise there! However, after having received my Cricut Expression as an early Christmas gift from my sweetheart, my husband Dave, I told him I wouldn't buy anything else for the rest of the year! I can do it! (I hope!!) Thanks for the opportunity to win one!

Allison's page is AMAZING! I love all that paper tearing at the bottom! WOW! I'm off to check out the other blogs with more examples!!

Congratulations also to your boys on their WINS!

Take care!

P.S. Oh yes, my favorite "fall" thought is really fall itself. It's my favorite season. I love the cool, crisp air, the holidays (Halloween AND Christmas) are my favorite two holidays, and I just love the energetic feeling I get on a wonderful fall day! Enjoy fall! (Even though I know you love summer best!!)

I miss fall. I have lived in the central US and on the east coast, where you get weather and seasons. Unfortunately, I have moved home to So. Cal., which I love, but it is always green. I would love some orange and brown leaves in the trees and on the yards. So, happy fall to all of you that get it. I think as a consolation to missing fall, I should receive one of the KOTM, don't you???
