A Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunity!
This past weekend a big dream came true! I've always wanted to sing in a large, really great choir--the Mormon Tabernacle Choir would be my first choice. On Saturday night, a world-wide meeting for the women of my church was held in the large conference center in Salt Lake City, Utah. And guess what? I was one of 350 women who were invited to sing in the choir. What an amazing experience--one that brings tears to my eyes and is hard to describe in words. You can see the choir (350 people--WOW!) and hear the songs by clicking here. I am in the upper right hand corner in the second verse of the first song. (Click "opening hymn" on the bottom of the screen.)
Here are some of my good friends who I was privileged to sing with:

I have a fun challenge from Stacy Julian that I'll be posting on October 1st. Stay tuned!
Sincerely,
Lisa B.

Lisa - what an amazing experience. Congratulations on one of your dreams come true!
I watched this last night on my computer and wondered if any one I knew was in the choir, since I have friends and family in the area. Didn't see you last night, but I saw you when I watched it again. What a great experience! It was an exceptional conference! So happy for you that you could be a part of it!
I loved being in the Conf. Center for that meeting! The choir was GREAT, good job!! I loved when all 21,000 women stood and sang WITH the choir. What a beautiful, powerful thing Sisterhood is!!
Congratulations on singing with the choir! Everytime I look at your blog there seems to be some dream (big or small) coming true for you. :) Thanks for sharing with us.
I saw you singing!! You looked great!
And thanks for picking me as one of your winners, I was the lucky recipient who watched her daughter take her first steps. Can't wait to see this scrapbook kit!
:)Rachel
My sister-in-laws mom sang in it too. I will have to look for you on the DVR when I finally get some time to watch it!! How fun!
Congratulations, Lisa! That is such a fun thing to do! I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to sing with a giant back-up choir at a concert with a bunch of (then) big-time Christian artists! It was really fun to say I had sung back up for Steve Green and Sandi Patti! LOL!
Lisa,
The choir was amazing. That certainly was a dream come true!!!!
Thanks for sharing it.
What an amazing experience! Wow! Congratulations on a dream come true!
We went to the conference center and thought it was so neat to see the choir. We were amazed that every choir seat was filled. What a neat experience for you to sing to the thousands of women in that building and worldwide.
I saw you on Sat, and leaned over and pointed you out to my sister. It was a great meeting, and the music was great.
I'm excited you got the chance!
I saw you! That was so cool! I've never seen anyone I know before! The choir was beautiful and the talks so inspirational!
Good for you, girl! It is so funny because as I was watching the broadcast live, I thought I saw you and it seemed like something you would be excited to do. However, when I see the picture you posted, I'm not sure if I wasn't looking at someone else who had the longer hair style that you wore before. Ha. Either way, I was thinking of you as I saw that beautiful choir.
I was impressed as I have been before when seeing women's choirs from other events and years. THESE are the most beautiful women on earth! Goodness radiates from each woman in the choir and all the world's images of "perfection" are put in their proper place- the garbage. Thanks for being a part of a delightful and inspiring sight, and I loved the joyful songs that celebrated Christ as our Savior and King! PS- I LOVED Pres. Uchtdorf's talk about creating something beautiful, didn't you?! I already know you did!
Lisa, you and your life are so amazing, so full of people and purpose. Someday I wanna be just like you. Rich!!!! He He! No I love what you are able to do for so many people, me included. I love ya girlfriend. Congrats on the choir!
So glad to see your blog back, for some reason I couldn't see it the past few days.
It sounds exciting to be able to do something like sing with the choir. I'm glad you were finally able to do that. :)
Watched it....saw you this time!!!! Gives me goose bumps!
My sister in law was there and saw you on the screen! She said you sounded amazing! Great Job!
I saw you! The choir sounded lovely. Thanks for sharing your talents. It was a really wonderful broadcast all around.
Wow what an experience. You are so blessed to have many talents. Congratulations!
Lisa, I met you at a scrapbook convention here in Idaho Falls, ID a few years back. I was watching the choir sing the other night and caught a glimpse of YOU. Way to go, it sounded so beautiful. I can't imagine they will ever have a choir come all the way from Idaho for that meeting so i must live my dream through others. Thank you, it was amazing.
Sincerely, Stephanie
Lisa - I was actually at the Conference Center for the RS Meeting and I have to say the choir you were in was amazing. I LOVED your choir director, I have never seen anyone so excited with that position before! It never ceases to amaze me at the spirit that floods that room when a Prophet of God enters it. How lucky we are to live close enough to see it first-hand! :)
I thought that was you! :D What a marvelous experience. I just LOVE Merilee Webb. She is an amazing conductor that I've had to privledge sing under her direction at Women's Conference. What a great memory for you! The choir sang beautifully.
Congrats Lisa... I am very happy another one of your dreams have come true !! Keep dreaming, and there will be plenty more to come !!!
I thought I recognized you! I am a recent convert, I was actually baptized in late May this year, and it was so wonderful to watch my first conference. You guys sang great!
Funny - I saw you, and told my friend "Hey, there's Lisa Bearnson!" I wasn't 100% positive it was you, but now I am :)
What an unforgettable experience that must have been - and to be in the Conference center during those most amazing talks (especially Pres. Uchdorf's, which filled my empty cup to overflowing!) You all did a fabulous job, and I have to say I LOVED your Choir director. She was so energetic and moved by the music.
I got so excited when I saw you! The choir sounded beautiful, and everyone looked beautiful, too. Your choir director was so animated! Such a cute lady. Congrats on being chosen to sing with such an awesome group of women :)
Lisa,
I saw you, while I was watching on Saturday evening. What a neat experience. I had the opportunity to sing at a womens conference once before when it was at the Tabernacle. I will never forget how neat that was.

Lisa,
That is so awesome! I am so happy for you. Maybe next the MTC? he he
Hugs, Bobbi Jo
There's nothing like a choir singing. We go to a "contempory" style church and I miss the choir and organ..such beautiful sounds!
Just had a question..I've ordered the Hall of Fame kits from QVC F-04334, but didn't get the layouts from Beth Opal, the perfect 10 or the Carrie Bradford one. When I watched the video back from QVC, all of those are shown. Are there 2 different versions?
Thanks,
Lisa
Congtrats! I was in the Deaf Choir a couple of weeks ago at the church where I belong. My dream finally came true when I got on the stage, signed and sang along with the hearing choir. It was an awesome feeling.
I watched the video and spotted you. You were great!
Christine
You ladies did soooo wonderfully Saturday night. I was particularly moved by "Savior, May I Learn to Love Thee?" How neat you got to live that dream!
Congratulations - the choir sounded beautiful! I missed the broadcast b/c of family in town, so thank you for the link to the video!
What a wonderful experience for you. I would love to know what it feels like to see the audience in the Conference Center from the choir area, it's magnificent building, I have only been in it empty and have only seen it full on tv. I love to sing but I'm not blessed with the ability so I only dream of singing in a choir :) so glad you got this opportunity and thanks for sharing.
I THOUGHT I saw you singing up there - glad to know my eyes weren't deceiving me. Beautiful job!

That experience sounds incredible. I can't imagine having the opportunity to sing along with that many talented women. Way to go, Lisa !
I had to go back and watch it again to find you. What an amazing experience. I absolutely loved the choir. I thought you guys did an excellent job!
I thought that was you :) You all looked and sounded great! I sang in the choir for last year's meeting and the opportunity was priceless. I am certainly a better person for having that experience.
What an amazing opportunity! I attended the Women's Broadcast live a few times when I was a missionary on Temple Square. It was such an amazing experience. I felt like President Uchtdorf was encouraging me to get back to baking & scrapbooking. Loved the whole thing - fun to see you singing with the choir.
Lisa - I know this is not the right place but I don't know how to email you. I am extremely frustrated with your customer service department. I've been trying to return 2 albums ordered off your site since the end of July and have gotten the run-around. Please help. I'm at my wit's end.
It was so amazing. I was sitting there watching the broadcast and there you were! I don't know if anyone in the chapel knew it or not, but I did. You are a leader to so many women in so many ways. When you let your faith shine trough, show who you truly are, you inspire so many, and not just in scrapbooking.
Thank You
Lisa that is so cool! I thought the choir sounded really wonderful! Congratulations on having that experience... I have the dream of singing with the Tabernacle Choir too.
Lisa,
I saw you while watching in my stakehouse in Oregon. I said to the friends around me,"That's Lisa Bearnson! I'm going to check her blog and see." So it was you! The dream of singing in a big, great choir is one of mine also. The music was beautiful and the speakers amazing. I went away from the meeting feeling uplifted and wanting to do better. I'm happy for you to be able to fulfill one of your dreams, I know how much it would mean to me, music goes to my very core. Thank you for sharint your experience, Dina
I say you on the top row.. How cool to sing at conference... Thanks for always sharing the gospel with everyone.. I am so proud of your example...
