Today's Valentines Ideas!

Some dear neighbors threw a fun birthday party for me a couple of weeks ago. At the event, they had different "stations" of some of my favorite things.

I LOVE sugar cookies. So, at one station Cherie got these cool sugar cookies (they are soft with a harder icing):

and we decorating them like this:

You simply take your "love" scrapbooking stamps, dip them in red food coloring, and stamp right on the cookie! We all took a "to go" container of cookies home to our kids. So much fun!

We also had glitter put on our toes.

This is so simple to do at home. Buy a top layer of nail clear nail polish and apply it to each toenail. Next, take a fine glitter and sprinkle it over each toe. (Martha stewart has a large set for around $20.00 at Walmart. Make sure you buy really fine glitter.) Brush extra glitter off each toe. Finally, apply a final coat of clear nail polish over the top. So much fun!!!

Until tomorrow, give someone you love a great big hug!

Lisa

P.S. Collin won his game by 12 points! The championship tournament continues. Another game tonight against our biggest rival team!

I love their work and have great admiration for you. I always try to buy their kits, but I live in Brazil and the kits arrive here at prices prohibitive, a pity! when you can visit my Blog http://neusinhafusco.blogspot.com and know more about the work done here in Brazil. Kisses with much affection.

How fun! I love the cookies; what a cute idea. I have to surprise my kids with those, esp. since my daughter loves those candy hearts with the messages on them.
The glitter toes look adorable; another fun idea that I will have to remember and possibly use at my daughter's 14th bday party.
THanks for sharing!

My friend actually made the cookies but she used an icing recipe instead of a frosting recipe. Icing hardens into a shiny glaze.

I've never tried this recipe but hopefully it will work:

Vanilla icing for cookies or pound cake
Ingredients:
2 cups confectioners' sugar, sift before measuring
1 1/2 tablespoons butter, soft
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
Preparation:

Combine all icing ingredients in small mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and well blended. Adjust for spreading consistency if necessary, adding more milk or more confectioners' sugar. Spread icing or drizzle on warm cookies or pound cake.

Lisa, I am so glad that you put the instructions for the glitter toes on here. I have been wondering about that. It is easier than I thought.
Thanks.
