Valentine's Day Winners!

It's been another emotional day. I spent the morning and half the afternoon at a funeral of a dear neighbor from my childhood. It was a beautiful service and a wonderful celebration of life for a great man. It actually was a neat way to spend Valentine's Day.

Just had to share this photo of Sage when she came home from school with her valentines bag. I might have to have a contest to give some of those patterns away. They are too cute! And check out Sage's necklace! Kolette Hall gave it to me a few years back and I just love it!

Steve and I had a wonderful time with friends last night at a culinary school restaurant. It was French cuisine and it was fun tasting different types of food.

Here was are--Steve's showing off his valentine! And check out my hubby--he's lost 25 pounds since Christmas on Weight Watchers. (Sorry about the purple type--I have no idea why it's linking to Sage's photo!)

I got this tear-jerker valentine from my 18-year-old son, Kade.

It was on my pillow when I got home last night. Just had to share what it said inside:

Dear Mom,

Happy Valentine's Day! I love you and am grateful for all you do for me. I am so thankful for how much you love me. Everything you do for me is out of love and sometimes I take it for granted. I am sorry for this. Remember what love really is all about. John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son." I can't quite comprehend how much Heavenly Father loves me, but I know He does! And you and Dad have taught me this. Thanks you for always being a good example and teaching me about this happy message. I love you!

Love, Kade

Kade is a senior and will only be in our home for seven more months before he's off to real life. I'm feeling very sentimental right now!

Wanted to leave you with this breathtaking antique window that my pal, 19-year-old scrapbooker extraordinaire, Michael Lazorchak, sent me.

Michael was driving by his neighbor's house when he saw an old window on the curb ready to be thrown out. He slammed on the brakes, drove his car in reverse and took the window home. After reflecting for a few days what to do with it, he decided to collect photos from my blog and create a 2008 year in review of the Bearnson family inside the panes of the window. On the back is a month by month synopsis of what happened in our lives along with a beautiful song from the musical Rent. Words can't describe what I felt when I opened the package with this amazing gift in it. Pure and utter joy. It is hanging front and center in our home and reminds me of all the goodness in my life--both with my family and wonderful friends like Michael Lazorchak.

Here's the photo Michael took of it before he sent it:

Okay--so here are the winners to the contest.

Chelsea & Manuel

So sorry for the loss of your friend. I LOVE the window idea! A few years ago, I, too, picked up an old window at the side of the rode, but never did anything with it! Now I know what I will do!!

Congrats to the winners!

Looking forward to seeing you on QVC!

Wow - thank you so very much!! I am one of the contest winners. I know that you have had you fair share of losses recently, as have I, but the one thing we have to hold on to is not what we have lost but the gift of the people who were in our lives.

Everyday, I try to pick out the blessing of the day and today it was this!

Thank you again - so very much.

That window is amazing!!!! To be so loved....

Beautiful valentine too. Those are the keepers to bring out when our children have left the nest. Our son is serving his mission and it can be so difficult when we miss him! No phone! so put it by your bed so you can bring it out.

Hugs!
