A Weekend to Remember!
Last Saturday was a beautiful day. Not only was the sun shining here in Utah Valley, our youngest daughter, Sage, shared a wonderful occasion with many family members and friends.
Sage was baptized and became an official member of our church. This is a big day in our religion. It's a day when promises are made--both on the part of the person getting baptized and on the part of our Heavenly Father. Our oldest son, Kade, was able to baptize Sage which really was a tear jerker. These two have such an incredible bond and are inseparable with each other.
Thanks for letting me share. I love hearing about your baby christenings, Bar Mitzvahs, weddings and all the other special things you share as a family.
Yesterday I did something I haven't done in years. I braved the cold weather (which actually turned out pretty nice) and took three beginner skiers skiing! I really had a blast and they all did great!
Check out the views from the Alta ski resort. Simply breathtaking.
Hope you're having a fantastic week. I met with Ellison today and was blown away by their latest Big Shot electronic machine with the pop-up die collection by Karen Burniston. Really cool stuff! I am presenting these products on February 18th on QVC!
Stay warm! Spring is only a few weeks away!
Love, Lisa
P.S. My friend, Pam Gebhardt, had us over for birthday dinners on Sunday. Check out this cool cake her daughter, Kara, made:
P.S.S. Just had to put a smile on your face. I went to dinner tonight with my mom, dad and four sisters. I thought we were having a great discussion and that my dad was enjoying himself.
Then I looked over at him and this is what he was doing!!! Too many hormones around that table I guess. Love you, Dad!

Hi Lisa, congratulations to your daughter, what a special day for her and your son, too. My older son, Ryan, who turned 18 two days after your son, will be the confirmation sponsor for my younger son, Evan, in May. It is extra special when a sibling can take part in this occasion and we are very excited about it. Happy belated birthday and have a great week.
Lisa, your dedication to family and faith is an inspiration. Thank you!
Congratulations to Sage! Your pic of your dad cracks me up, Lisa! LOL!
Congratulations Sage on your baptism and becoming a member of your church. We are having a baptism service in a few weeks & it always brings tears to my eyes on the wonderful things God has done in peoples lives & how they want to profess publically their relationship with Him.
I'm laughing at the pic of your dad. I come from a family of 4 girls & I think my dad does the same thing sometimes. LOL
Love the pictures of your Dad! Congratulation to Sage. What a beaufitul day in God's glory!

My husband baptized his sister, and they did it in the Snake River. I am sure it was a memorable day for both. :) It is so cool that Kade was able to baptize his sister. What a good example to his sister.
Love to read your blog! :)
I took your class "It's about Us" at CKU a few years ago. It was fun to meet you.
I am one of five sisters, and my father wears this weary expression much of the time too! But you know he loves it!!
Enjoy your week!
Kade baptizing Sage is so sweet and wonderful. I would've been teary-eyed as well. Congrats.
The ski pictures are beautiful. Maybe one day I will be able to visit Utah myself. The pictures I've seen are gorgeous!
Your dad's picture cracks me up too; poor guy :P
Congratulations to Sage! I LOVE the photo of your dad! I have three sisters (no brothers) we have seen that pose on my dad MANY times!!!
AWwww! Congratulations to Sage! I remember my baptism very well. I hope she was able to journal about it. I didn't and I wish I had.
Lisa,
I feel compelled to say something! Your blog is awesome. You seem awesome! But something is missing from your blogs and photos - your son Colin. As a middle child I'm sensitive to this and he seems like the forgotten one. The girls are definitely in your favour but what about your boys, especially Colin. I thought that I'd bring it to your attention because maybe you don't realize what the optics are.

How awesome! Congrats to Sage! My son was baptised on the same day, just in another state! What a special day!
Thanks for the sweet comments, everyone.
Janelle, Thanks for your concern with Collin not being in as many photos as my other children. I looked at previous posts and he is in two of the photos on January 12th (Student of the Month photo and playing "Friday Night Lights). He actually isn't my favorite child (love all of them the same) but he IS at my favorite age. I LOVE the age of 15! Collin is sweet, is totally our peacemaker and is enjoying the perks of teenage life (parties, sports teams, driving permit, etc.). However, he has one downfall. He HATES having his picture taken and avoids it at all costs. So--that's probably why I don't show as many photos of him. Thanks for your concern and I'll make more of an effort to get Collin in the photos.
Sincerely,
Lisa
This pic looks like my husband!! He nods of on occasion and I just let him be. :)
Congratualtions to Sage! My son Mason got baptized too. It's a very exciting time! How neat that your son was able to baptize her. I would have cried my eyes out!
Have a good day!
Congratulations Sage!!! The cake is breathtaking and you have a Dad that you just want to run up to and give a big hug and squeeze!!! You have a beautiful family Lisa...thanks for always sharing with us.

Lisa, I remember you telling us (Carrie Heaphy, Amber, Staci and I)that Kade was going to baptize her, I had forgotten about it until I just read your post. How special, I miss the Utah snow (Montana snow isn't quite the same) Looks like you have been spoiled for you birthday like you deserve! Hey, I tried to add you as a friend in Face Book, you know you want us girls up here in Lolo as friends! Have a great one!
this has nothing to do with contest, but lisa - i received an email for an 8x8 photo book offer from CK through shutterfly - most of which was unreadable - i have tried several times to reach CK support both via email and telephone, both times I was promised that the information would be resent - to date it has not. would you please see to it that I receive the appropriate information? thank you

Congratulations, Sage! You're looking so grown up--practically a little lady!!! Y'all will remember that special day forever.
Love the pics of your dad....his face....bless his heart!!!
p.s. you're cracking me up...taking pics outside with snow in the background and no big coats! You must be immune!!! :D
Hey Lisa! Congratulations to Sage~ what a special family event. So neat that Kade got to baptize her. I love that I get to learn a little about another religion while reading your blog. Thanks for sharing!!

That's awesome that your son baptized your daughter! What a great thing for your son Kade to look back on and keep him 'going strong' in these crazy teenage years. At least where I live, there aren't a great deal of good boys that honor their priesthood, so you should be so proud of your son and all the good choices he seems to be making.
It sounds like all your kids are fun, good kids!
I feel like a terrible friend for missing your bday. The last part of last year and this past month have been slightly more trying than most..and I haven't been able to be the friend that I like to be. Was just thinking of you tonight and popped in to let you know. Love you and hope you had a great birthday! Would love to get together soon if your schedule allows. ;-)
Your daughter looked angelic and I would have been in tears also. Love the photo of your dad. Poor guy. I don't ski but I love the look of snow and snow skiing. Have a wonderful week and will check out QVC on the 18th.
Lisa ~
Alta does look beautiful ... and I'll be skiing there next month! It'll be my first time on skis.
We'll be touring around your beautiful state of Utah, from SLC down to the beautiful state parks.
I'd really appreciate if you'd contact me with any "must-visit" places for a scrapbooker (sb stores, manufacturers, etc.) at susanandsal@aol.com.
Thanks a bunch! :-)
Love the photos! Congratulations on her baptism! Such a special time for your family! Sending you love!
Congrats to Sage!! That is so exciting! My oldest will get baptized in June and she is so excited!! I can't believe she is almost 8, where has the time gone???
Lisa,
I'm new to scrapbooking and I bought a kit at a garage sale to attempt to make one of your books. When I got it home - there we no directions. I think it is about Photos That I Love and then it has a page for each season. Is there any way I can obtain the directions?
