On A Different Note . . .
My children and I are huge into notes. I just had to share a few of my favorites that I found around the house today.
This note is front and center in Sage's room:
(I think she's a little paranoid after being cooped up for a week with the dreaded flu, strep, and an ear infection.)
This note was found in Brecken's room:
(Collin is very conscientious about time and if he feels like he's doing too much of something, he changes it.)
This was my note on my infamous :) whiteboard frame:
(Collin's trying out for the Lone Peak basketball team today. Keep your fingers crossed!)
This was darling. Brecken prepared a lesson for family night last night and had colorful 12 x 12 scrapbook paper lined up on the mantle. Under each sheet were "words of widom" we need to follow to live a healthy, happy life. Definitely something to take note of!
Kade writes daily notes in his journal about impressions he has while reading scriptures. Steve will leave quotes around the house that his loves. His latest said "Mean what you say, and say what you mean."
What are some of the cute notes your family has left around the house?? I'd love you to share them with us!
On a different note, my cousin, Curtis Gregory, is an offensive lineman for the University of Missouri. He's up for a very special award--Lowe's Senior class award in the football division. Ten football student-athletes who excel both on and off the field were tabbed as finalists. Please read about Curtis here and if you like what you read, we'd love your vote!
Hope you're having a great week.
Lisa

Go MIZZOU!!
Easy peasy vote... my alma mater!
I love your notes! I just found one yesterday I want to scrap. My 8 year old wrote a note to Santa--his wish list. In between all the toys he lists, he wrote "Adin wants a tooth." (Adin is his 6 year old brother who lost his front tooth in a battle with a bathroom sink--so it isn't ready to grow in yet!)
I love seeing all you do and all the links you post. I am going to check out your cousin's link right now. Thank you for sharing all you do!
Christine
I am the only one around our house that writes notes and it usually is..."Honey, this is how much money you need to put into my account!" 8)
Sage used the wrong "you're"...
Keep on top of that.
Aww, I love the notes! What a great scrapbook page these will make :)
My sweet hubby left me a note the other day. He had been asking for some chocolate sauce to stir into milk. I bought some and left it on the counter so he'd see it. The next morning, the chocolate sauce had a post-it note on it that said "Chocolate sauce (and me) loves you!" with a little heart. It made me smile!
I love that all your family writes notes. I write myself lots of notes and leave them in my path. Just sitting at my desk I can see two notes 1) says "What you focus on, is what you get!" 2) is a picture from a magazine of the Taj Mahal, one day I want to take that same photo with my camera. I write notes to my dh when I need something and he is not home at the time I think of it. I have realized from your post that I need to write more notes to my 10yo son in hopes that he will write notes too. Thanks for the inspiration and have a great week too.

Not to promote my blog, but I happen to have blogged about the latest note left by my six year old (in my bed) the other day. Beware of the sleeping bear. :) He also hung one on the fridge that said, "My favorite food: nochos. Can we have some?" he, he.
I love leaving/sharing notes.
LOve Sage's note...that should go on everybody's front door!!! ha.
Woo Hoo Mizzou- class of 1992! Still living there today. Good luck!
I love notes!!
Love finding them! Especially the cute notes they write on their school work during the day.
"I love Mom" or "I miss Mom"
I draw tiny hearts on my kids hands before school each morning. It is to remind them - that even when we are not together - They are always in my heart and I am in their hearts.
love the notes! DH and I have been leaving each other notes on our bathroom mirror with a lip pencil I wasn't using! It has been lots of fun
PS. any ideas: I'm still getting the RSS from your blog in my e-mail, but when I click to go to your blog I get a message saying forbidden I don't have permission to access it. thanks, Tammy
Hi Lisa,
We are a note family also.
We use the quote "Mean what you say, say what you mean but don't say it mean."
My hubby is always leaving me notes to say he loves me. Or that I am beautiful ( Gotten keep him)
I am always leaving him notes to tell him what to pick up at the store. I also include a love note.
He is doing most of the chores and shopping since I have had 2 surgeries this summer. He is a sweetie and I don't know what I would do without him.
Thanks for reminding me it's time to write another note.
My daughter loves post its and often will put one on her forhead at night after we tuck her in because she knows we will tuck in one last time before we go to bed. An example, "Mom, please refil my water" I have so many pictures of these...so cute!
Hi Lisa,
My 9 year old left a box on the mantle w/a note that says "every lit bit helps" wanting money put into it.
He also leaves love notes on our pillows and signs them "Love your son, Connor" I LOVE THEM!!
Can you tell me where you got your "infamous" board?
Cute notes, Lisa!! My Emmie is the note writer here...LOVE them!! I have kept many of them. One of them I just found a few weeks ago and it is hanging on my bullentin board above my computer...
"Dear Mom,
If you are reading this I LOVE YOU!
Love,
Emma (with a heart)"
This note brings me joy daily:)
My Dad used to leave me notes all the time!! I have kept many of his, too. So glad I did...he passed away from Leukemia back in 1996. A neat story I think you'll appreciate...
He died the Monday after Father's Day. We drove back to his home (my childhood home) on Tuesday. My Mom told me to go out in the shed and his office. You can't believe what I found!! My Dad and written notes about me and my life all over the beams in the shed!! He had written down the first time I ever drove...the date, the time, how I did. He wrote down our talks, the day I graduated, the day I left for college...the day I got married. Those beams meant the world to me!!:) When Mom sold the house we actually took the beams out! I also found that day a filing cabinet FILLED with files and files of my art projects, NOTES I had given him...little scraps of paper I had drawn on when I was 2!! Oh, man I loved my Dad and I cherish all those things!! Lisa, thanks for sharing this...it has reminded me of some wonderful memories this day!!
Love,
Les
Most of my notes are from my kids and lately are letters of apology :( So glad that they give an apology - so sad that they need to in the first place :(
When my nine-year-old son has a day off from school, I also take the day off. He puts post-it notes for his friends on the outside of the door, so that I can sleep in. The last one read, "Do not ring dorbell befor 12:00 am." Obviously, he meant noon, but what a thoughtful boy!
My fiance left me a note on the mirror one morning that said "you are always safe with me"
It was a great morning. I keep it on the corner of the mirror so when I am getting ready for work it starts great.
How cute! Love the hand sanitizer note! I am really feelin' that one!
m ^..^
Voted for your cousin!
What a great blog post. Love it! I often wake up to a note on the bathroom mirror from my husband telling me how much he loves me or to have a great day.
I treasure those notes. Handwritten notes are not as common now with texting!
HUGS TO YOU!
I write a note on my daughter's napkin that I send in her cold lunch to school. I started at the beginning of Kinder with cute paper, but then one day I didn't have paper and was in a hurry. She loved it on the napkin that day so much and got so many funny, sweet comments from people in the lunchroom that it just stuck.
My daughter always writes... "You are the best Mommy I ever had!" (I am the only Mommy she's ever had, but hey.... I love it when she tells me these things. Makes up for all the naughty moments she has!)
Go Mizzou...got to vote for the Tigers!
My note to you would be, Lisa, Had the best time ever in the cemetery! Thanks for the good time and listening ear. Love ya, Judy :}
You have the best kids!!!! (and hubby)
