Fun School Days Photo Ideas Plus I’m a Little Heart Broken Right Now!

I know, I know. You’ve heard this before and you’ll probably hear it again but sending my kids off to school simply stinks. I get so teary-eyed the first few days after they leave and even have a few crying sessions. Sage started school on Tuesday. She was all smiles:

Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited for all the learning and fun opportunities school brings. But–I’m a little selfish too and love having my children near me.
School for your children probably hasn’t started yet. Over the next few days, I’m going to share with you some fun photo ideas from Sage’s first few days of school. Then when I launch my new look on this site, I will show you an easy way to include all these memories and photos in a cool scrapbook.
So, here are my first two school days ideas:
1. Get a photo of your child by the name of his or her school.
2. Give your camera to someone else so they can capture your child with mom on the first day of school. I love this photo because it simply expresses all the emotions I feel sending my last child into 4th grade.
Enjoy your last few days of summer.
I’ll share my next idea soon.

I fell the same way as you do. I hate to send my son back to school. He started Middle school this year on Aug 9th:(

Love the picture ideas – and I get it too – dreading my big boy heading back to college next month. Luckily, my 5th grader is around to keep me company. And my solution for missing her at school? volunteer. Yep, I'll sign up for everything from PTSA chair to party mom. I work part-time, besides, so I stay extra busy (errr…crazy!) but I get to help out at school so I get to see her here and there!

Hi Lisa! I know how you feel. 2 of my girls(4th & 10th) started school on the 17th and my oldest girl in college(2nd yr) started the 18th. I just sat and cried. I miss them so much. I will be miserable and sad for a while until I can get use to a quiet house again. I was home with my girls this summer because I was laid off 8 months ago. It's been really difficult. Hopefully I can get back into scrapbooking – it's been awhile. Looking forward to your new site. I'm so envious of you – you do it all and have it all. You are such a great inspiration. Thanks for all you do!

I'm with you…I'm a little depressed today, my youngests first full day of school, and I am all alone at home again. I hate the end of summer, and cry every year when I take them to school…this year was the hardest as I took my oldest off to college.
I love the picture of you with Sage, I need to ask someone to get pictures of me with my kiddos.

My daughter moved out Wednesday – only about 10 miles away, but she's not here. Both boys are still home, but this year all three will be in college. Being a mom is such a mix of joy for your child and longing for the days when they were all still home.

Thanks for sharing! Love the books on the head idea. My youngest starts 4th grade in a week. Summer flew by too quickly!
