Every year I take a picture of the shoes my children wear on the first day of class. It’s fun to look back over the years how the styles and their sizes change. (By the way, Sage made the ankle bracelet on our recent camping trip.)

I also love this shot. Even though Sage rides in a carpool, she takes the bus on field trips. How cool that this bus has her school’s name printed right on the side!
Also, be sure to take a picture with your child in front of the school. There are special lenses for SLR cameras that allows for the whole school to be in the shot.
I like the simpleness of the colors in this photo. I want Sage to remember what the halls of her school looked like.
Many of your little darlings are off with their backpacks this week. Please give them a hug for me.
Oh-And I can’t wait to show you what I’ve done with all my school days photos. It’s a brand new product soon to debut on this site!
Lisa

Ok Ok getting excited for what you have "new". Loving the pics of Sage she is soooo cute. But about ready to bust, when we gonna see the new stuff:)
Oh yes, shoes and clothes are always documented in my journailing (the size especially).
Hi Lisa, Just FYI. I have your blog linked on my blog and when I click it, it goes to a wordpress account. I found your blog through your email.
Love all the photos. They sure do grow up fast, don't they?
These are such cute photos of your daughter. Thanks for the fun ideas for back to school pictures. Unfortunately we recently moved from Logan to Riverton and my daughter had to start school at the end of July. It was such a crazy day that I only got one picture of her. So I am planning an excursion to the school during Labor Day weekend to get many more pictures of her and her school. I also just moved my son into his freshman dorm at BYU! I love your blog.
You are amazing! I don't know how you have the time to come up with all of these ideas! I'm so excited for your ideas on what to do with all of the school photos. My babies are just starting out in school…first grade & kinder. and I have three under three at home! Thank you for your efforts in keeping your blog posted with new eye candy, sometimes it's the only thing that gets me through the day!
Your ideas are thorough & creative and nice to document for your children.
Have you thought about being more careful about being so specific about where your kids are at (school names) on blogs. Aren't you concerned for their safety and privacy? I blur or cover (photoshop) over emblems or signs for privacy.
Maybe you're fine with it because you're a public person, Lisa? What are your boundaries on this issue? Any advice to other Moms?
I also take a photo of my kids' shoes on the first day. I know in 10 years they'll look back and say "I can't believe I wore those." That's one of my favorite shots!
What kind of camera do you use? Every shot is perfect!
I love the shoe idea! I hadn’t read this before my son’s first day of grade 2. Fortunately, HE came up with the idea to take a close-up pic of his shoes. I also got a close-up of his new glasses with the flash off to reduce glare.
Thanks for the photo ideas. I usually do take photos, but this year has been crazy so I haven’t had the camera out very much. My kids have been in school for a month already, but it’s not too late to take some photos, right?!
most brands of kids shoes are using synthetic leather which is sometimes hard for a kid’s feet ;*~
