A Merry Christmas To All And To All A Good Night!

(It really is Christmas night but for some reason it says the 26th!)

Just want to wish you a wonderful holiday season from the Bearnson clan:

Edited vintage1 571x800 A Merry Christmas To All And To All A Good Night!

Here is a link to my Christmas card. You can read about all our family happenings here. My friend, Karen Clauson (a Heritage Makers consultant), designed my card and another pal, Judy Pasley, took the photo.

We’ve had a wonderful day attending church, opening presents, visiting family, eating and . . . we had a 40 minute conversation with my missionary! Kade is happy, healthy and we can hardly wait–only 31 more days until I can give him a big hug in person. However I’ve been a little down since our conversation. I sent two packages a week ago (one to be opened on Christmas Eve and the other Christmas morning) and he didn’t receive either one of them. He was totally cute about it but I have to admit I shed a few tears. It’s the mother hen in me coming out!

I met my pal, Pam Taylor, at a photo shoot  with her granddaughters and Santa on Thursday. It was only a five minute shoot but the results were amazing. Sage was with me and as we were leaving she said, “I’ve never had my picture taken with Santa.” Okay–major guilt! Have I really never taken Sage’s photo with Santa? I seriously couldn’t remember a time either. So, although Sage knows who Santa really is, I had to make an appointment for that night. Just had to share some of the results with you:

Here’s the really cool part. Steve wasn’t with me so we used the Santa they had on hand. But in most of the photos, the dads dressed up as Santa. What a brilliant idea! There were no screaming children because none of the kids were afraid of Santa. It was just their dad dressed up! Also, the price was amazing. It was only $20.00 for a photo session and the thumb drive with all the proofs. Now Sage can’t say she never had a picture with Santa!

We are off to sunny Arizona tomorrow. Steve’s nephew is getting married on Thursday in Mesa. We are stopping by Las Vegas for a Cirque Du Soleil show tomorrow night  and then a tour of Hoover Dam the next day. On the way home, we are touring Skywalk at the West entrance of the Grand Canyon. We want Konsti to have the total American experience while he is here.

Hope your day was Merry and Bright.

Love, Lisa

Lisa! I understand about the packages. My oldest son lives in Ohio and this was his first Christmas not with us. I sent him a package and even paid extra for the 2-3 day delivery. Yesterday, when I spoke with him, he said he didn’t get it and I mailed it 10 days ago. I felt so bad. My next oldest son is at Marine Bootcamp and we didn’t get to talk to him and we can’t send him any packages. It’s also his first time away from us at Christmas. So, yeah, i understand…

And can I say how much my daughters and I miss seeing you do scrapbook days on QVC.

How exciting that your son will be home in a month! I bet that will be a fantastic day!

Oh, I’d be upset too about Kade not getting his gifts. But, just think how fun it’s going to be to open 2 presents at the same time!!! Whoop! Whoop!

Love your Christmas pics. What an adorable card and Santa shots. You really have some talented friends, Lisa. And Sage is getting so big!!! Breaks my heart and I’ve never even met her! :)

Have a safe and fun trip with your family. Konsti will love seeing Hoover Dam–it’s so awesome. The last time we were there, they were building this HUGE bridge above the dam between the mountains. Amazing.

What a beautiful shoot with Sage. Those pictures are priceless no matter how old she is…I know you are about to die waiting for Kade to come home and it will be here very soon. I too miss you on the Q but so glad we can see you here. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I can sympathize too! I am a missionary mom and the package I sent to my son in Spain did not arrive, either. I felt so bad. I am going to send a New Year’s package…but his first Christmas away and no package…ouch! I am excited for you about Kade’s homecoming. I dream about that day all the time. I hope you have a great time on your trip!!! Happy New Year!

    Lisa,
Just catching up after a long break from obsessing over the blogs! Love your spirit. Years ago, my mom and I posed with you for a picture at a QVC event. I told you about my 5 children who I adopted and you told us about a woman that you had met through a contest, I think, and Steve ended up baptizing her. How quickly the years pass – I remember reading about Kade leaving on his mission, and now he’s almost back! My son just left the MTC for Las Vegas last Monday, so I had my first Christmas phone call this week. I am so proud of him, but it sure leaves a big hole in our home — he has been the life of the party! Happy New Year!

The Santa pictures are amazing. Not the typical Santa pictures. Can I ask where you had them done? Too late for this year but I would love to do something like that next year.

I’m excited for you about Kade!

Thanks for sharing! Happy New Year!

Really? She has never had a picture taken with Santa?! Sorry, that just took me aback….

  11. Sue Thornton says:

What a beautiful young lady Sage has become. We have all followed her and all the kids over the years. I will never forget the picture of her “not being the one who got into the wedding cake.” I am so excited for you and the family as you anticipate Kade’s homecoming. Have a wonderful vacation and blessed New Year.

  12. Cindy Sowell RN says:

Lisa the Santa photos with Sage are ADORABLE!!! Please tell me where I can find this Santa, for next year? I”m anxious for Kade to get home to his Mama! LOL!

  13. Kirsten J says:

Lisa, I know I sound like a broken record but I can only barely imagine sending my boy off without seeing him for 2 years. College is tough enough on me!! So happy I have a 9 year cushion to soak up my younger one. I’m super excited for you to see Kade soon!! I’m sure he had a great Christmas, and had something special to look forward to opening during the slump after Christmas.

  14. Wendy Hansen says:

Sister Bearnson: Congrats on Kade coming home so soon! I am also a missionary mom, and my son is leaving the Provo MTC on the 16th to go to Thailand. I did not get a Christmas Day phone call-instead, he will call home on the day his group leaves. We had 3 missionaries at our home on Christmas, and we let them use our Skype so each could have an hour-long, face-to-face conversation with their families. I just cried a lot, because I envied their families. I’m missing my son SO much! How strong we moms are called to be!!! BTW, your little girl is just a little younger than my youngest daughter, and Sage is turning into a genuine beauty! (You’d better tell Dad to brace himself for the inevitable phone calls from boys! There will be a lot of them.) You must be so proud. You are a very blessed woman. The Lord has really favored you
