I got through Christmas, a trip to Vegas and Arizona, the kids starting back to school and Steve’s birthday. Now I’ve got Sage’s birthday, Konsti’s birthday and then . . .
Yep–We are counting down the days until our boy gets home from his two-year mission for our church. He’ll be here at 4:09 p.m. on Wednesday January 25th! Oh–I get a bubble in my heart every time I think about it! I can hardly wait to give Kade a great big mama hug!
Other highlights over the past few weeks included this fun trip to the Grand Canyon (South Rim):
It was Stefyn and Konsti’s first time seeing it! It always takes my breath away. Can’t believe the beauty that’s on the earth.
Hoover Dam right outside of Las Vegas is an amazing sight too:
We also went to Cirque Dei Soleil’s Mystere (it was good but “O” is my favorite so far) at Treasure Island in Las Vegas. We ate the buffet at Treasure Island too and it was great (complete with cotton candy).
We had a great time in Mesa, Arizona. The wedding of Steve’s nephew went off without a hitch. Stefyn and Brecken single handedly cooked a wedding luncheon for 120 people. It was delicious! Great job, gals! We also enjoyed the Mesa, Arizona temple lights (if you live in the area, you must go next year) with Karla and Bob Libbey (I met her through scrapbooking) and the boys had fun golfing in the 70 degree weather. All in all a fun trip.
Well–It’s late and I’m off to bed to dream about our entire family being together soon.
Hope the new year is off to a great start for you!
Sincerely,
Lisa

Just had to share – I totally understand the bubble in your heart! Our missionary son is in the Philippines and will be home on February 2. I am looking forward to that great big hug and since I have experienced it before when our oldest came home in 2009 I know just how wonderful it will be! Enjoy the anticipation
It will be one of the best “mom” days you will ever have when you see your boy come down the runway!!!!!
Hi Lisa, Did you forget you have a birthday in there too? LOL.
All the best for 2012.
Hugs
Ruth from across the big pond.
WOOOHOO!! doing a happy dance for the return of Elder Bearnson! Aren’t the lights just amazing at the Mesa Temple, had the blessing of singing in a combined choir again this year–it was AWESOME!
How exciting! When my oldest son came home, I took a good friend with me to the airport to video the events as a bystander. That way no one in the family had to concentrate on taking good video. She brought her son with her and he took a lot of very cool random pictures of the whole event. That was about 18 months ago and I STILL get a lump in my throat thinking about it.
So happy for your family finally getting to see Kade after 2 long years!!! (actually it’s seems to have zipped by hasn’t it?) He probably won’t want to leave the house for 2 years…ha. What a great birthday present that’s gonna be for you, Lisa. We’ll all be looking forward to seeing pics (and video) when you get them. In the meantime, hope Sage and Konsti have great birthdays as well!!! Eat some cake!!!
Lol–you got a great pic of that bridge we saw them building 3 years ago near Hoover Dam!!!
It’s been two years already? It seems like you were posting that he was leaving. Time does fly, so that’s good for you since he’s coming home soon.
So excited for you to see Kade! We just put our son in the MTC..infact today is his p-day and I am not so paitently waiting for his email! I still have a bit of a hole in my heart right now from dropping him off, but I know it will get smaller with each amazing letter he writes home.
I wanted to thank you again for a great time in San Diego, it was fun to get to know you and spend some time with you.
Can’t wait to see you with your arms around your missionary!

I am keeping such warm thoughts for you and your family. There is nothing in the world like having all your children with you.
