I’m a little nervous right now. My 19-year-0ld son, Collin, will be opening his LDS church mission call tomorrow! His dear friend, Ali, will be opening her call too! (We are good friends with her parents as well.)
A young man or woman doesn’t get to choose where they go on their mission. There are around 350 missions around the world and we believe it is God’s will where they are assigned to serve for two years. Collin could be called to Fiji, Paris, Idaho, North Carolina (where my son just returned from) or even Nigeria. The chances of him getting called to California (17 missions), Mexico (19 missions) or Brazil (27 missions) are the greatest. The only state I know for sure he won’t be called to is Utah! When Collin leaves, there will be approximately 86,750 missionaries around the world. I’m on pins and needles wondering where he’ll go. I’ll let you know!
Sage’s 12th birthday was yesterday and instead of having a friend party, she wanted a family party. We decided to make it a “girls only” celebration and stayed in the Provo Marriott for three nights. Some of you may know the Provo Marriott which hosted many CKUs over the years. While this hotel is only 25 minutes from our home, it still felt like a vacation! We watched some fun movies, worked on our SMASH Books (if you don’t know what these amazing scrapbooks are, go HERE to find out) and ate amazing food. (The Smash Books are on sale!)
We also got pedicures and went to Phantom of the Opera at BYU:
Okay–I’ll let you know the news real soon!
Hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday!
