Hello to all my friends and happy day of LOVE! Thanks for all your comments on my BIG surprise. Many of you guessed a grand baby is on the way. While this would be delightful and I’m excited when this blessed day arrives, no–Taylor and Kade aren’t expecting.

My baby came home from school yesterday with a huge grin on her face. A white rose and heart-shaped box of chocolates were delivered to her in 8th period. She said it was super awkward because both boys were in this class. They were starring at her as she read their names on the attached paper-heart notes! I’m not ready for my 12-year-old to grow up!

My favorite food for Valentine’s Day is lobster tail! It started when my boys were younger and my husband would bring home live lobsters for dinner on VDay….the boys had so much fun watching the lobsters (well, until they hit the water, lol) So we have kept on the tradiition of a lobster dinner on 2/14!

I love dark chocolate! My kids do, too…which is so weird to me because I didn’t like dark chocolate until I was into my 30′s! I shouldn’t be surprised with their sopisticated taste…they have been eating sushi since they were in preschool, & I didn’t have my first sushi until after college!

Chocolate is my most favorite…I mean how could it not? But, I tried a yummy thing this morning making “egg in a hole” toast for my kids – using a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out the center of the bread, then toasting it in a skillet with an egg frying in the middle. They turned out awesome and super cute.

Today is Valentine’s day. Typically my favorite food would be sushi. Unfortunately, today I am on a clear liquid diet (doctor’s orders), so my favorite food is apricot jello. Not because it is tasty but because it is a “clear” liquid and contains no red or blue food dye.

I’m a country gal so I love my “meat and taters”. My husband and I haven’t been able to go out for Valentine’s Day to our favorite local steak restaurant for 3 years because of his schedule. This year, he ended up scheduling himself off (by accident, of course) so right now, I can’t think of anything better than a big ole’ steak and baked potato loaded with extra sour cream as the perfect Valentine’s Day meal!!! Cinnamon cookies – they are heart shaped shortbeard with crushed red hots mixed in the dough and then a smaller heart is cut out and you put crushed cinnamon hard candy to melt.

I have made special sugar cookies every year for the last 17 years…they are double decker sugar cookies with raspberry jam in the middle (the top one has a small heart cutout to show the red jam) then the top is frosted pink and you drizzle chocolate all over. My mom used to make it for me and my siblings for Valentine’s every year and then I did every year after she passed away and I still do for my kids now. For my first Valentine’s day as a married woman, my hubby was deployed. Before he left, he set up surprises for me for holidays over that year and he made sure his mom brought me strawberry freezer jam on english muffins for Valentine’s Day.

I made some yummy shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate to send my daughter who lives out of state for Valentines. They turned out real yummy. Not really into chocolate, but these are real tasty.. Wish this project life was around when my grown up kids were little!!!!!
It wasn’t exactly my “favorite” food, but it was sort of a tradition that for our Valentine’s Day dinner the kids always wanted to make red Jello jigglers that they could cut out in various shapes. Needless to say there were a lot of red stained lips and tongues around the table. Now the kids are grown and gone, but my grandkids still love making Jello Jigglers.
Mine is most definitely strawberries too! I love making heart shaped strawberry pancakes for breakfast, decorated with whipped cream and of course perfect little heart shaped strawberries on top!
All I can say is…chocolate!

Valentine’s day is our anniversary (25th yesterday)and as is my custom I make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to give away. It was my mother’s recipe and filled with all the no nos like butter, cream and the best chocolate chips!
Every year they go to different groups of people. This year I gave the staff at our local library some, the ladies in my knitting group some and, this one will make you laugh, the ladies I exercise with some. Hey, it is Valentine’s day – if you can’t have cookies then, when can you eat them.

My daughter and I made rice krispy treats yesterday and I ate so many of them that by the evening I was craving salt. So this year my fav. food for Valentines was popcorn!

Well, we had fondue…chocolate and caramel…with angel food cake, cinnamon bears, bananas, apples, and yep…strawberries. It was definitely a favorite!

My favorite food is really anything…as long as I’m surrounded by my kids and loving husband. This year it was really simple…breakfast food with a treat for dessert…raspberry cream pie! The kids loved it all!

Well, my hubby and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, but my kids adore this day. To make it special, I make them pink heart-shaped pancakes with strawberry jam and strawberries cut into hearts on the side. That has to be my favorite Valentine food. It makes them so happy.

On Valentines Day I love anything Chocolate…well, really on ANY day! And, I always love receiving at least one TRADITIONAL heart-shaped box of Valentine’s candy. I have saved them all and am amazed at all the different beautifully decorated designs. I have dated the bottom of the boxes and have saved notes, letters, photos and any other “treasures” from my children, grandchildren and friends. I have been a “traditional” scrapbooker until I found the PROJECT LIFE concept……and I am hooked!

We don’t really do Valentine’s Day, although this year my husband wanted to. I don’t really have a favorite meal or dessert. I love salads, garlic bread, Indian food (something spicy).
We had a lovely dinner. I enjoyed a really hearty salad, followed by a nice glass of wine, some cheese and a nice coffee. Our kids enjoyed something really unhealthy and ate a chocolate brownie covered in a fudge sauce, surrounded by strawberries and topped with loads of cream.
