FREE Cutting Downloads plus I’m Off to HSN!

Monday, May 13th, 2013

Yesterday was a lovely Mother’s Day. It began with a healthy breakfast in bed while my DH gave me a foot massage! I then received a beautiful watch, bath pillow and bath accessories kit from Steve and the kids and we enjoyed a wonderful fajita dinner with extended family.

Just want to say how much I love this brood. This is the last Mother’s Day I’ll have with them all together for several years:

Collin whipped up this little representation of our relationship together. On the back was a beautiful, heartfelt note. Yes, Collin. This Mama Bear will continue carrying her cub although we will be apart for two years. I’m gonna cherish every moment together these next three weeks!

My Mom’s Loving Quilts + an HSN Favorite!

Friday, May 10th, 2013

My adorable mom is a quilter. She loves choosing fabrics, picking the right pattern and then spending hours making sure the colors and designs will look right in the quilt. It’s an amazing labor of love and everyone one of her children and grandchildren are the beneficiaries of her quilts. She has taken each of her 21 grandchildren to the store to choose fabric and a pattern, then creates their own bundle of love.

This is my niece, Chelsea and Brecken’s fabrics in her quilt are the same (I haven’t been able to get a moment with Brecken for a picture – track meets are taking up all her time lately):

On the back of each quilt is this sweet label.

photo copy 9 620x465 My Moms Loving Quilts + an HSN Favorite!

I’ve created a special “Quilt” scrapbook for Mother’s Day for my mom that houses photos of quilts and messages from each grandchild. I’m so excited to present it to her–I can hardly wait! Oh–and of course I used Project Life to create it – fast and simple.

My mom is in the process of creating another quilt for each of her five girls. Again she let us choose the fabric and pattern. I chose these colors and a chevron pattern. This is a VERY rough draft of what it will look like:

Thanks, Mom, for this amazing memory for me and each of my children. You are the greatest example and friend a gal could ever want. When I grow up I want to be just like you! Happy Mother’s Day!

So – only a few more days until my HSN shows.

I will show you one of my most favorite NEW products on Monday plus FREE downloads that you’re going to love.

If you didn’t pick this “Sticker Bliss” Mega Sticker Kit up the last time I was on air, you must grab it before it’s too late.

It’s honestly one of the best sticker values I’ve ever seen–over 3,000 stickers included in the organizational box. The designs are cute and the customers who received them said they “love the high-quality card stock stickers (they aren’t flimsy) plus the large variety of styles and designs.” Other reviews said “Couldn’t be happier with the variety and quality,” “everything and more is in this kit,” and “bright colors and extremely cute designs.”

Hats, Hats and More Hats & I Love This Trimmer!

Thursday, May 9th, 2013

I have the wonderful opportunity of being over the 16-18 year old girls in my congregation. Last night we got together to make hats for the young cancer patients at Primary Children’s Hospital. It was a wonderful night – full of service and love. Lucy helped us make the hats and this one is her favorite:

photo 620x620 Hats, Hats and More Hats & I Love This Trimmer!

Just look how creative and colorful all the girls were:

photo copy2 620x465 Hats, Hats and More Hats & I Love This Trimmer!

Just a few more days until I leave for HSN in Tampa, Florida. I’m super excited to present some great items plus I get to spend a week with my son, Collin! After HSN we will venture to Orlando for some fun. He leaves for New Zealand on June 6th – right around the corner. This mom’s heart is happy and heavy. I’m going to miss this kid so much.

Just a reminder of my hows:

May 14th 2:00 p.m.

May 14th: 6:00 p.m.

May 15th: 9:00 a.m.

This product is one of my favorites that I’ll be featuring:

Hats, Hats and More Hats & I Love This Trimmer!

It is honestly one of the best trimmers I’ve used. In fact, I have a very expensive one I’ve used for years and this one rivals the pricey one!

I love the long 19″ arm that easily opens and closes on the trimmer allowing for small and larger items to be cut:

Hats, Hats and More Hats & I Love This Trimmer!

I love the SIX drop and load cartridges that easily allows me to change the edge on my pages and projects:

zNy6hVZY5s cwGCdffjhNhWfRwTPgtmRpUqKRZ3D2V4 399x800 Hats, Hats and More Hats & I Love This Trimmer!

These cartridges include straight, wave, perforated, decorative, pinking, scalloped and scored blades and they are stored right in the trimmer itself.

This trimmer is portable yet perfect for your counter top. It also shows you exactly where your cut will b – no guessing games! And – it’s a great price!

The decorative edges makes a big statement on your pages without being overbearing:

Just Look at my Handsome Boy!

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

If you left a comment in the past day or two, I was able to read the comment, but unfortunately it didn’t post. However, I think comments will post now. Please keep leaving your comments and questions ’cause I love them!

Yesterday was such a whirlwind day I didn’t get the chance to blog. You know how it goes – getting kids off to school, meetings, errands, a wedding reception, more errands, visiting my parents, emails, a quick dinner together, meeting my pal, Loni Stevens, for some brainstorming, Brecken’s volunteering at the local hospital, Sage getting to volleyball, a late night call with a designer, a hot bath at midnight, and the list goes on and on.

Probably my favorite part of the day was going with Collin to Mr. Mac, a local men’s clothing store, and outfitting him for his mission. Just look at my handsome boy! (I was trying to hide all the tags so they wouldn’t show for the picture.)

photo copy 22 620x620 Just Look at my Handsome Boy!

Our dear friend, Stuart Christensen, owns the Mr. Mac at City Creek in Salt Lake City. He’s the amazing friend who so lovingly took care of his wife (Betsy) who passed away almost two years ago of brain cancer.

If you ever need any type of men’s business attire, go see Stu at Mr. Mac. Oh – and tell him Lisa sent you! He’ll for sure give you a great deal!

A few posts ago I mentioned the amazing Jute and Bakers twine kit that I’ll be selling on May 15th at 9:00 a.m.on HSN. Let me just mention that there are 48–yes FORTY EIGHT–rolls in every kit.

Here are the colors in the Bakers Twine:

I’m a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Monday, May 6th, 2013

Kade and Taylor will soon celebrate their one-year anniversary and Taylor wanted to surprise him with something special. Kade has been puppy hungry so Taylor drove to Idaho to pick up a new little Boxer puppy:

photo copy 5 620x464 Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Ruby is her name and they simply can’t leave her out of their sight! True Puppy Love! Hmmm–I guess that makes me a grandma! I’ve heard Boxer’s are great family pets–is this true??

Only eight more days until my “Paper Crafting with Lisa Bearnson” show and I’m so excited to be featuring both the Silhouette PORTRAIT and CAMEO cutters:

dream it up lisa 620x238 Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Many of you snatched up the Cameo the last time I was on air. In fact it sold out! They now have been able to get a limited number of the Cameos back for my May 14th 2:00 p.m. show. Also, great news! I will be selling a limited number of Silhouette Portrait cutting machines too:

silhouette of america portrait electronic cutter d 201301291803464337095718w 620x620 Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Both machines are simplly amazing! I am spoiled with the 36,000 images in the Studio store that I can download any day or night AND being able to use the fonts on my computer for cut outs. Also, I can make any invitation, party, home dec item or scrapbook pages feel like a customized masterpiece:

Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

Here are similarities (and difference below) between the cutters:

1. The PORTRAIT and CAMEO cutting machines use the very same software – Silhouette Studio. You can draw different shapes, type your own text, trace an image or photograph, and more. You can also easily resize and manipulate your designs to your liking and then send them to the CAMEO or PORTRAIT with the click of a button.

2. The PORTRAIT and CAMEO will cut a wide array of materials. Paper and cardstock are great for making cards and scrapbook pages. Adhesive vinyl is popular for home décor and window decals.

Screen Shot 2013 05 06 at 12.09.33 PM 620x354 Im a Grandma + the Power of the Silhouette Machines!

3. Heat transfer material is perfect for making custom apparel. The CAMEO and PORTRAIT can also cut fabric and specialty materials such as sticker paper and rhinestone templates.

4. The CAMEO and PORTRAIT’S cutting mat is designed to hold your material in place during the cutting process. You can even place an assortment of smaller pieces on the mat at once and cut all the parts for a project at the same time.

5. With the CAMEO and PORTRAIT’S print & cut feature, you can print an image to your home printer and then cut right around the edge. It’s a great way to cut out printed designs with an irregular or intricate border.

Here are the FOUR major difference between the cutting machines:

1. Real Estate. The PORTRAIT is compatible with an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of material. The CAMEO is compatible with a 12 x 12 sheet of material.

2. Price. I’m not totally sure of the HSN price but the PORTRAIT is usually around $70.00 cheaper than the CAMEO.

3. Portability. The PORTRAIT was built for compactness and portability. It’s light enough to carry with you.

4. The CAMEO comes with a $35.00 download card and the PORTRAIT comes with a $20.00 download card.

Hope this helps in your decision process.

See you tomorrow!

Lisa

Love is in the Air!

Friday, May 3rd, 2013

Yep–It’s the season of love! We have been invited to four weddings in the next two weeks! This beautiful friend is getting married on Tuesday:

645 620x496 Love is in the Air! Could the wind have cooperated more perfectly?

She and her soon to be hubby are so cute together (they’ve know each other since Krista was in 9th grade):

648 620x496 Love is in the Air!

658 620x412 Love is in the Air!

 Love is in the Air!

These photos are jaw dropping gorgeous. The photographer is Ethan Watts–a very talent young man.

It’s been such a pleasure watching Miss Krista Saltmarsh grow up. She is one girl who has always kept her sight on the end goal and her morals high. She is currently Miss American Fork, Utah and is beautiful inside and out. Oh–and you should hear her sing!

Last night we celebrated her upcoming marriage at an amazing shower. I met Krista through her mom, Cali, and guess how Cali and I met?? Yep - through scrapbooking!

photo copy 2 600x800 Love is in the Air!

She lived in Nashville for years and used to get Creating Keepsakes magazine in the mail each month. She’d see my photo on the editorial page and knew one day we’d be friends! One issue featured a photo of me with my dad. She immediately recognized him as the vocal professor at Brigham Young University that she dearly adored. Cali accompanied my dad’s students on several occasions. Small world. The rest is history. Cali met Kristy Banks who introduced me to Cali and here we are today – dear friends!

I was pleased as punch to see this display in the entry way of the house when we arrived at the shower:

photo copy 4 620x620 Love is in the Air!

What a GREAT use of the Project Life Blush kit! Cali is having all guests from each shower and the wedding reception write notes on Blush cards:

eFgutQU9OPHkRtfKZ yzpFx vXWUlo11R7BzBatoaGo 620x357 Love is in the Air!

She will then easily create one big, happy book with photos of the Krista and Drew’s courtship, engagement and wedding photos meshed with all the comment cards. I LOVE THIS IDEA!!! It works so perfect with Blush!

Great news about Blush Project Life. HSN was able to get a very limited supply of the Project Life Blush edition for my May 14th 2:00 p.m. show. So – be sure to watch and grab yours before it’s gone.

Two more happy thoughts from last night’s shower.

1. Just check out this view from the home we were in – Salt Lake Valley at its best.

photo copy 620x465 Love is in the Air!

2. The yummy cake pops–the perfect present for departing guests. (Oh–and think how easily the tag can be made using the Silhouette cutters! I’ll disclose the new machine I’m selling next week!)

This to That HSN Product. Plus the Weather Outside is Frightful!

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

I truly can’t believe that flurries of snow lasted almost the entire day yesterday. Today is a little warmer but I’m truly ready for spring! Last night all the young men and young women in my church’s congregation met for a neighborhood cleanup project but it was too cold to stay outside. We ended up playing Six Base Kickball and Dodgeball in the gymnasium at the church.

I’m so excited to present this product on HSN:

This weekend we are hosting a surprise party for my 12-year-old nephew and are playing a rousing game of “House of Fire.” This game centers around full-sized candy bars and is so fun to play with a large group! I can hardly wait–I’m such a kid at heart!

With all that being said, I can go without candy if I have to! I recently went for three weeks without sweets and last year I went for almost a month. So0ooo -it’s hard but can be done!

Now on to another amazing product that will be featured on HSN on May 14th (2 and 6 p.m. EST) or May 15th (9 a.m. EST): Journaling Tablets:

“Write On” Sticker Kit plus Happiness on my Front Porch!

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

I love to “doodle write.” My handwriting is a cross between printing and cursive writing. I especially adore writing with a Papermate Sharpwriter mechanical #2 pencil in my daily calendar and “things to do” list (so I can erase as I go!).

I also love writing daily messages on an inexpensive white plate I got from TJMaxx:

photo copy 9 e1367352401501 620x465 Write On Sticker Kit plus Happiness on my Front Porch!

Because I love casual writing, we came up with a “Write On” sticker kit that features epoxy word and quote stickers that features my casual handwriting. This kit is BRAND NEW and will be featured on either  May 14th (2:00 p.m. EST and 6:00 p.m.EST) or May 15th (9:00 a.m. EST) show.

If you’ve never used word epoxy stickers before, you’re in for a huge treat. They peel off the backing so easily and add such a statement to your page with little effort. Oh-and they are  low profile so there’s no bulk–just dimension.

What A Weekend! Plus, For the Love of Brads!

Monday, April 29th, 2013

First of all, THANKS for all your amazing votes, comments and advice on my “Paper Crafting with Lisa Bearnson” logo. It really meant the world that almost 200 of you took the time to answer my question.

I had such a HARD time choosing but after much thought and deliberation … and because the majority of you chose option two and HSN loves this logo, this is the one we chose. (On the samples below, Kerri just played around with the colors and also added another little dimension on the last one just for fun.) We will probably change the colors from time  to time.

Screen Shot 2013 04 29 at 3.56.32 PM What A Weekend! Plus, For the Love of Brads!

I’m getting excited for my HSN shows on May 14th (2:00 p.m. EST and 6:00 p.m. EST) and 15th (9:00 a.m. EST). Over the next two weeks, I’ll regularly be revealing new products that I’ll be featuring on my shows.

Here is one of the items and just look at this amazing box of happiness:

…..

Now on to my busy weekend. Our family foundation sponsored a 5K, half marathon and kid’s fun run early Saturday morning at Thanksgiving Point on behalf of the amazing children’s museum that’s currently being built. Here are the member’s of our family who ran the race:

photo copy 62 620x620 What A Weekend! Plus, For the Love of Brads! From left to right: Melissa (nephew’s girlfriend), Bryant (nephew), Stefyn (stepdaughter), Michal (niece), Taylor (daughter-in-law), me, Collin (son) and Kade (son).

Here’s to girl power!

photo copy 71 620x465 What A Weekend! Plus, For the Love of Brads!

Kade, Collin and Taylor all ran the half marathon. While he loved the course, Collin (who hates to run) wrote on Instagram “Guys–half marathons are the worst.” He completed the race in stellar time but he probably pushed himself too hard. My advice to him? Maybe next time he should train for it??

My print out told me I was the overall winner for the half marathon! I had to let them know I’d ran the 5K, not the half!!! Thanks to the several thousand people who showed up with their running shoes on! Come join us next year. The half marathon goes right through the beautiful tulip gardens. And–we’re thinking of adding a 10K next year.

The best part of the race was having the Boston Strong symbol on the arm of my shirt.

We all had a moment of silence before the race which set an amazing momentum for all who ran. A great reminder for me to be “Boston Strong” and do all I can to promote peace on earth.

Rounding out our weekend was this amazing lady’s birthday and we celebrated with a family dinner last night. I simply have a wonderful mother-in-law. Rhea Bearnson is kind, easy to talk to and always full of fun. Like this moment last night when Steve had her smell the whipped cream on her strawberry shortcake-. He then took the opportunity to push it in her face! We all had a good laugh.
