Yesterday was a perfect Easter–beautiful weather, lovely church service and loving family and friends dinner last night at our home. I hope your day was peaceful and happy as well.

This box of sunshine sent by Becky Higgins even made my spirits soar higher:

I love innovative companies who provide cools ways to send gifts. This company is from Sun City, Arizona and is called Scatter Sunshine Inc. Thanks, Becky, for making my day!

Several of you have asked about favorite fonts to use with the Silhouette Cameo.

As you noticed in my Project Life book I featured on HSN, I used the Jade core kit and then card stock titles cut out with the Cameo.

Thirsty Script is the cursive font used in the samples above and is on sale for $29.00 at myfonts.com. This includes 12 variations of the font–a steal of a deal. As it says on their web site, “Thirsty Script is a typeface with a ‘new meets vintage’ vibe. It’s friendly with an edge . . . a mixture of retro script, modern sans serif and a shot of caffeine.”

Other favorite fonts include Franklin Gothic Demi bold condensed and Arial Block. Both can be purchased alone or they also may have come with your word processing software.

Kerri Bradford is the absolute expert on getting the most “bang for your buck” with the Cameo. She knows all the secrets to using this amazing cutting machine. Go here for tutorials specific for the Cameo. Also, amazing classes on the Cameo will available soon be available on her site.

One cool trick she taught me is to add a rectangular box to the bottom of your font and weld it with your words (while in the Studio software). This makes it so you don’t have to apply adhesive on every single letter–just one piece.

I’m off for Spring Break with my family. There are many great things about living in the state of Utah. One of my favorites is the cooler weather up north where I live and the warmer weather down south. So–since it IS Spring Break and we want to enjoy warmer weather, we are heading south.

I’m back from Tampa, Florida and first and foremost have to say a huge THANK YOU to each of you for all your support. Your positive energy just oozed through your television screen to the HSN television cameras making me feel very loved and teary eyed.

The overwhelming response to the Project Life kit totally made Becky Higgins smile. In fact–I don’t think she’s wiped that smile off her face for three days now. It makes Becky so happy that 25,000 people will soon have her revolutionary memory- keeping system in their hands. Becky–thanks for your vision, insight and passion.

If you don’t know who Kerri Bradford is, you must go to her site to see firsthand her creativity. If you have a Silhouette Cameo or just purchased one,  you’ll be amazed at all the  images she’s created to be used on this machine.

Kerri just traveled with me to HSN and was my right arm for the entire process. She worked with me for years at QVC and I was so thankful when she said “yes” to helping me with my HSN venture. She is a wonderful women and so thankful we all benefit from her creative juices. Oh–and she’s the designer behind the Cinnamon and Turquoise editions of Project Life.

I got some many great questions from several of you and I’ll try to answer them in this post. Please ask me more if I don’t get them all answered!

Q: Where did you get all your clothes and jewelry for Monday’s show?

A: Two of my sweet friends who own amazing companies outfitted me with the majority of my clothes and all the jewelry.

The jewelry company is Jewel Kade and their jewelry is my absolute favorite. It’s very fashion forward, classic, yet full of personality and fun. Jewel Kade jewelry is only available through stylists. You can go here to find a stylist in your area.

Many of my clothes were from Loni Steven’s brand new online boutique, Ruby Bloom Boutique. I love the convenience of shopping online and the prices and size variety are unbeatable.

This is one of the dresses from her boutique that I was possibly going to wear on Monday but decided that it was too dressy for the crafting day. The dress is only $34.00 and you can wear it either tied or untied.

The necklace and bracelets are from Jewel Kade.

Q: How often will be you be on HSN?

A: I will be hosting “Papercrafting with Lisa Bearnson” 6-12 times a year. I will keep you updated with dates and times as I receive them. The next hours are scheduled for May but don’t have a for sure date yet.

Q: Will you feature new items?

A: HSN is very committed to bringing the very latest items to their program. They also love new, new, new. So–I’ll have a wide variety every time.

Q: Do you do your own hair and makeup at HSN?

A: Thankfully no. HSN provides a wonderful hair and makeup artist before each airing.

Q: When do you sleep during a 24-hour craft event?

A: I loved everything about HSN! Truly a great experience with the nicest people. One of the great benefits is having a hotel literally around the corner. After my debut on Monday morning, I got to the hotel around 2:30 a.m. and had to be back over to the studio around 7:00 a.m. It’s hard to shut your mind off and go to sleep but I actually got a couple of hours of sleep. I then was at the studio all day and didn’t get in bed until 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning. So–I was up for close to 36 hours with only three hours of sleep.

Q: Where do you hang out between shows?

A: Every guest is assigned a green room where they can relax in between shows. We also hang out in the halls, setting up all the tables and making sure all last minute details are in place.

Only FIVE days until my “Papercrafting with Lisa Bearnson” debut! I have been plotting, planning and preparing for this day the past seven months and now it’s almost here!

When HSN approached me about having my own show, I knew immediately that I couldn’t make my debut without Becky Higgins’ Project Life. You see — not only do I love this way of scrapbooking, I believe in it! It has been a way for me to get all those thousands of photos off of the computer and into a beautiful scrapbook that is cherished by my family. And — I can create an entire album, yep, and entire album that contains 365+ photos — in just one weekend.

I’m so excited to share the two choices with you.

Happy Belated Green Day!

Yesterday was Stefyn’s birthday! Here is this cute girl out enjoying the warmer weather doing her favorite thing:

Last night we had a celebration for her – fit for a leprechaun! Since we didn’t get back from the Caymans until the wee hours of the morning, Brecken had planned out the whole meal herself. She did all the cooking and baking and her food is oh so good!

She made FOUR different desserts. Here are three of them:

You’ll recognize one of them as the Becky Higgins’ famous Pretzel Hugs. However, instead of using HUGS, Brecken melted chocolate kisses on top of square pretzels in a 200 degree oven for eight minutes, then topped them with a mint M&M. Clever girl!

We also had Irish stew, corn beef, an amazing veggie medley and green cornbread!

Speaking of Becky Higgins, we have less than seven days before I feature her Project Life kits on HSN!

On a totally unrelated note, this might be the first time I have been so sad for Friday to be here! While I am excited to see my family again, I am so sad to leave this beautiful island and the warm weather.

This is what I will miss the most:

We kept a pitcher of virgin Pina Colada concentrate in the fridge. Then, every afternoon, we’d blend it with ice and drink these luscious drinks on the beach. Yummy!

I will also miss these amazing sunsets. Every evening, we’d gather on the beach and watch the sunset. This is the view from our balcony.

Beautiful, right?

Yesterday we also took a trip to a turtle farm and then down to Hell. Yep - that’s right. There really is a Hell here in the Grand Caymans. We stopped at the Post Office to send our kids and parents a postcard from Hell.
