Thanks So Much! Plus Winners of the Premier Issue!
Wow! I am so touched by all the kind comments from the last entry. Thank you for making this gal's year!

I randomly chose three people to receive an autographed copy of the premier issue of the magazine. And the winners are:

Elise (1:05 p.m.)
JustMe
Jen E. (8:22 a.m.)

Please e-mail your name and snail mail address to Steven@Bearnson.net.

Just to let you know what's on the horizon for me. Yes--I am totally a stay-at-home mom! And yes--I'm loving every minute of it. But I'm also an entrepreneur at heart so I'll continue to share neat products I've got my hand in and also fun ideas for your scrapbooks and home. For example, check out my cool new clock. It's 24 inches in size (there are other sizes available too) and is quite a conversation piece for all who see it. I've given several of these away for wedding presents (of course with the couple's photo on it!). In a future entry, I'll tell you how you can get one too!

My sister, Angela, has one that looks like this in her entry:

They are so unique and I LOVE them!

Also, have you seen Becky Higgin's new Project Life kit? Go here to see a preview! It's a must have. And--if you want to try a digital Project Life kit, Becky's announcing one soon!

Also, I love a deal. If you live in Utah, plan to attend the American Crafts (one of my favorite companies) warehouse sale. And--even if you aren't in Utah, stay tuned for some fun American Craft giveaways that I'll be giving on my blog throughout the sale!

Hope your holidays have started off right!

Talk to you soon!

Happy Holidays Contest! Smokin' Hot Deal! Plus Info on the Clocks!
Note: Sorry--I posted this yesterday with the wrong address for Joyce Gale. Please see below for the new address for Joyce and how you can order an amazing Christmas kit.

First of all, I have a few holiday surprises for you over the next few weeks. So--you'll want to stay posted to my blog and find out how to win some fun prizes. Plus--one of my surprises (next week) will be free for all!

Here's the first one!

In my blog below, I told you about the amazing sale that's going on right now at American Crafts (until noon on Christmas Eve located in Orem, Utah). Well, I didn't quite know how great it was and how large the selection would be until I went shopping there myself yesterday! (See post below for the address.)

Here I am with my happy little cart!

One of my favorite kits is this one:

Here's the scoop. Ten of you will win one of these kits (the first person to post will be an automatic winner). Just go to the American Crafts web site here and tell me what the latest American Crafts product is (hint--it's on the bottom of the home page). I will randomly draw 10 names on Thursday after 5:00 p.m.

Also, check this out. You have to be there in person for the sale. But--I was so mesmerized by the kit below that my friend, Joyce Gale, at American Crafts said she'd love to do something nice for my readers.

If you want to get this really cool Christmas Scrapbook Collection or the Valentine's Day Scrapbook Collection (other favorites of mine), contact Joyce at Joyceg@americancrafts.com. Each kit is valued at over $100.00. They'll sell it to you for $20.00 plus shipping and handling. Honestly there are so many pieces in this kit, it makes me giddy! Paper, ribbon, Sparkly buttons, glitter embellishments, journaling stickers, Thickers, jewel brads, rub-ons, etc. There are so many pieces I couldn't count them all. Hurry and order. Supplies won't last!

And--if you won the last contest (premiere issue of Creating Keepsakes), please resend your information again. Unfortunately we didn't get your e-mail.

I have many people asking about the clocks. They are simply beautiful! They are wooden and range anywhere from 8" x 8" to 24" x 24". Each one is a work of art--no two are the same. Many of you have e-mailed, called or left a message on this blog regarding the clocks. If you want to give clocks as gifts for Christmas, leave a message and your e-mail address on this blog and I'll walk you through the process. Or you can contact us at Steven@bearnson.net. There are 8" clocks (introductory price $24.99), 12" clocks (introductory price $44.99), 18" clocks (introductory price $74.99) and 24" clocks (introductory price $99.99) (plus shipping and handling). I have the largest one and it is beautiful. Love the uniqueness of it!

I just had this one made for Annette Mortensen's daughter who's getting married on the 18th:

I'm so loving this time of year and am relishing every moment with Kade before he leaves.

I'll share some of the fun things we are doing.

Have a great week.

It's Free--Yippee!
I LOVE cool fonts--I mean who doesn't? I recently happened upon this adorable font (actually a DoodleBat) and fell in love with it. It's perfect on my cards and scrapbook pages. (This is a small sample of what the font entails--26 cute words and flourishes.) And, they all totally look homemade---like I wrote them!

Here is a card I made (inspired by Mou Saha) using one of the DoodleBats. (I just downloaded the font and pressed the letter "z.")

Here is a white on white version. I simply pressed the letter "n" for the "forever."

Just a little information. A DoodleBat is like a sticker or rub-on except you use it over and over again, on paper or digitally. Infinitely customizable, you can change sizes or colors for any project! Part doodle, part dingbat font, Doodlebats come with up to 26 images (a-z on the keyboard) or 36 images (a-z and 0-9 on the keyboard) and a PDF reference guide with corresponding images, automatically added to a folder on your desktop. Once installed, find Doodlebat fonts in your font list, starting with DB.

So here's my gift to you--DB Adornment absolutely free!

I'm also offering you Lisa's Top Picks Bundle including 5 favorite fonts and an additional DoodleBat. Retail value of the bundle is $20, but you can grab it for only $6.50.

To download both the free DB Adornment and purchase the font bundle, go to here. Don't delay--this offer is only available until December 31st!

Also, beginning Wednesday, the ScrapNFont bundles are on sale for an additional 50% off the regular discount price.

Hope you're off to a good week. My list is a mile long! I am addressing Christmas cards, getting ready for parties, buying Sub-For-Santa gifts with the kids, wrapping presents, baking goodies, playing racquetball everyday with Kade, PLUS getting ready for a cruise. We are leaving for a week the day after Christmas! Crazy!

Enjoy all the cute fonts.

Love, Lisa

P.S. Drop me a note and let me know if you love free fonts and DoodleBats and great deals on fonts, etc. If so, I'll keep bringing them to you!

Gabe Needs Your Support! And another fun giveaway!
Don't forget to download your FREE font (see post below).

A miracle has happened! Remember Spencer, my little friend who you all sent dollar bills to? I met him for the first time in August and at that time, he wasn't doing very well. In fact, the outlook was grim. Well--he recently went through treatments and tests and his cancer is GONE! Really--there is no more cancer. I know it was all your prayers and dollars sent on his behalf that pulled him through. He bought an iPod and tunes with the money you sent and has found so much joy from his music. Thank you so much for all the support.

Now I have another big favor. My sister, Carolyn, called me last night to tell me about Gabe. This little guy's family are good friends with Carolyn and her husband who all live in Ohio.

Just a few weeks ago, Gabe was diagnosed with a rare lung cancer and the family found out yesterday he only has days left. You can read his story here. Make sure you have Kleenex--it's heart wrenching. (His mom, Wendy, is a big scrapbooker.) The only thing Spencer wants are Christmas cards. Wouldn't it be neat to send dollar bills like we did for Spencer? Think how much fun Gabriel will have opening all the letters and discovering a dollar bill in each one. Spencer had a lot of fun tracking where each letter came from. He ended up getting a dollar from every state and even some foreign countries. Please help us help Gabriel have a happy Christmas. Send a Christmas card with a dollar bill or just an envelope with a dollar bill. (Just one favor--please don't say "get well" because there is no cure for this cancer.)

You can send your letters to:

Gabe DuBois

627 Pierce St.

Maumee, OH 43537

One more favor--this is timely so please put your card or dollar bill in the mail as soon as possible.

You guys are the best. Oh yeah--when you do it, please leave your name, city and state (it will be fun to see where all the postmarks are coming from) and I'll draw two winning names on Friday. I have a new, fun kit from American Crafts that I'll be sending you!

Thanks in advance!

Lisa Bearnson

P.S. Just got an update about Gabe. Make a Wish jumped through hurdles to make Gabe's wish come true. He is leaving for Disney World tomorrow. (His family knows it's a great possibility that he may pass away in Florida. If this happens, his mom and dad will enjoy getting the cards and will use the money for funeral expenses). Also, he is getting baptized in his church tonight. Very touching.

The Family that Plays Together . . .
Thank you blogging friends for being so terrific with Gabe and for sending letters from all over the country and world. They should be arriving any minute and I can only imagine the look on his face when he sees his mailbox. It's still not too late to send a card and a $1.00. Or just a $1.00 if you're feeling overwhelmed with the season. See my blog entry below for more details.

Here are the two random winners for the fun giveaway.

Lindsay Jones
Highland, UT

Susan
St. George

Contact Steve and steven@bearnson.net and give him your snail mail address.

Besides the hustle and bustle of the holidays, our family has been staying very active. Here are some of our favorite things to do together:

1. Dodge ball. Seriously--if you haven't invested in some dodge balls yet, you must! It's a super fun game that a lot of people can play. Our family loves to go to our church gymnasium and play against our family and friends. (Don't use a basketball. I don't know why Collin is holding one. It would hurt! Also Brecken is in a stage where she likes to act goofy in our pictures : ) !)

Racquetball is another family favorite. I used to compete when I was in college and newly married and I LOVE this game. It's been fun to play with my family and teach them the rules and some skills. Steve has always been a great competitor and Kade's become really good too.

Then there's the sport of flag football. This is a total blast to play with the whole family. Here's Sage--she just caught a pass and is making a touchdown.

Kade also scored an amazing touchdown.

We've also enjoyed cheering Collin on at his Lone Peak basketball games. Go Knights!

Hope you're putting aside some time to play this holiday season. Let me know what you're doing for fun!!

Can't wait to show you the amazing Christmas scrapbook that came in the mail. Plus--you're going to bust a gut when I tell you about Collin's 12 Days of Christmas.

I'll write again soon.

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night!
I hope everyone had a peaceful day today. Mine was a little hectic since we are leaving for a cruise tomorrow. However, it was still a great day.

Here are my little ones going to bed last night. Steve was the instigator of the pajamas!

We also had matching pajamas. I'm showing off the homemade gift (on my head) Steve (with the help of my sister, Becky) made for me. We always draw names and make a homemade gift. Steve had me this year and tried to make an embroidered pillow with no luck (he got through one small flower). So--he called Becky to help! This picture is a little scary since it was taken first thing this morning (which was 8:45 a.m. at our house--we were thrilled with the extra sleep!).

Here are the kids showing off their gifts from Santa. Sage got the American Girl doll she's been dreaming of and the rest of the kids got digital cameras.

Here is a family photo we took for our Christmas cards (we ended up using a different pose).

Just have to share something really funny. Collin got asked to the girl's choice Christmas sweater dance a few weeks ago. The next day a friend of mine called to ask if her daughter could ask Collin to the Sweater Dance or Preference which is in January. I gave the thumbs up on Preference since he'd already been asked to the other dance and that night the 12 Days of Christmas started for Collin. Well--the gifts were very cute but as they went on they got more and more elaborate and more and more flirty (kisses one day, candles the next, etc.). I loved the wrapping paper she was using (I have the same kind from American Crafts) and all the creative scrapbooking products she created (snowflakes, paper ornaments, paper chains, etc.). Collin began getting embarrassed and would get red when he got them although I could tell he enjoyed it. He was sure it was a girl in his newspaper class. Then last Saturday he got asked by another girl to Preference.

What should he do?? I called my friend and she said the 12 Days of Christmas wasn't from her daughter. He ended up saying yes to the other girl. Meanwhile the flirtatious 12 Days of Christmas continued. Today while opening our presents, the last present came. Collin couldn't wait to see who had done this kind deed for him. Guess who it was?? His sister, Brecken!!! She had drawn his name and the 12 Days of Christmas was her gift to him. We all got a big kick out of it!

Speaking of Collin, he is a very gift writer. He recently started a blog called cbwaytobe.typepad.com. (The "cb" stands for Collin Bearnson.) He wants to speak out to other teenagers on making the right choice and standing for things that are the very best. I was having a bad day on Tuesday (Costco in a crowd--need I say more?) when I came home and read Collin's Christmas post (scroll down to the second post). It truly put things into perspective for me! Unfortunately you can't leave Collin a comment on his blog, but you can leave one here for him. Let him know what you think about his message.

Finally, you MUST listen to my niece, Mallory, in her Christmas concert. I'm one proud aunt! Click here and scroll down to "O Happy Day."

I'll be gone for the next week. Stay tuned for some excited changes when I get back.

Have a great holiday season.

Sincerely,
Lisa

P.S. My friend, Carrie Smith, introduced us to a new, fun tradition. On Christmas Eve, Steve read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" as we sat in a circle, each with a wrapped gift. When the word "the" was read, we exchanged gifts to the right. It was crazy and funny! At the end, everyone ended up with a sweet gift!

Also, my other Carrie friend (Carrie Heaphy) sent this in the mail. She's soooo creative! The stand is from Chatterbox. Love it!

An Update on Gabe DeBois. A Must See!
I'm in California waiting to get on the cruise ship this afternoon. I just got this amazing movie about Gabe DeBois--the little guy you all sent cards to last week. You must watch it (click here) and look for the card you sent which is hanging on the wall!! His mom wrote how excited he's been to receive all the cards and that they are tracking where they've come from. He feels like a celebrity with all the mail and because he got to ride in a limo!

Thank you for your love and concern for Gabe. Really--you all are amazing.

Happy 2010!

Sincerely,
Lisa
