Summer 2010 is going WAY too fast. Wow--it's already 1/3 over. We've had so much fun! The highlight was this special gal's wedding that happened to be in our yard.

Marilynn Pelton is a hero to our family. In fact, she's a big reason why Creating Keepsakes magazine was successful. Yep--she was our family's nanny for more than 10 years. Wow--a decade of being with the Bearnson gang! We hired her at the very beginning stages of the magazine. I knew I wanted to work from home (Steve was at the office) so I could be closer to my children. I was also having a hard time on keeping up with the laundry, errands, carpooling, etc. while working. Marilynn was an angel that was sent straight to me. Everyone of us simply love and adore her.
Here is our family with her on the big day (June 24th). Make a guess why Collin is in a tuxedo t-shirt and his swimming shorts! Leave your comment here. I'm curious on guesses!

Marilynn was a beautiful bride. She just beamed. My good friend (and former CK Hall of Fame winner), Loni Stevens, took the photos. I lover her style and creativity. Go
here to check out her web site.

A fun side note. My hubby set Kirk and Marilynn up! Kirk is one of Steve's best friends.

Our trip to Lake Powell was a huge success! This is what Lake Powell looks like--except it is miles and miles of shoreline that looks like this. It's simply amazing.

We had 23 youth and 10 adults on board. Here's our little family (it looks weird without Kade!).

Our neighbors, the Janiecs, came along.

Also our other neighbors the Jensens.

Also a high school friend, Cherie Bate, with her son Ty and his friend Corban.

And then all these kids that we adopted.

Sage spent a day making strawberry freezer jam. I was so proud of her--she did all the cutting, blending and cooking. We now have a freezer full of jam thanks to her!

Brecken made an amazing father's day meal for Steve. It was a Mexican meal consisting of homemade Horchata (a rice drink), black bean and chipotle pepper soup, enchiladas with mole sauce and fresh mango salsa and basil guacamole with tortilla chips. Wow--she attempted things that I'd never try and it was all excellent.

Well almost all excellent. She made the tres leches cake late the night before and fell asleep while waiting for it to bake. She woke up four hours later and the cake looked like this. She still presented it to Steve and we got quite a laugh out of it.

Well--that's a little view into my life thus far this summer. I'm off to a family reunion and a cabin for a few days, then to Bear Lake for a week. Fun, fun, fun.
Hope you're having a blast this summer too.
Sincerely,
Lisa
