Back to Pooh Corner!

This summer has been a blast, but it's also been go, go, go. One of my favorite songs is "Return to Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins. It's a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things of life. The Lyrics go like this:

Christopher Robin and I walked along
Under branches lit up by the moon
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon
But I've wandered much further today than I should
And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood

It's hard to explain how a few precious things
Seem to follow throughout all our lives
After all's said and done I was watching my son

Sleeping there with my bear by his side
So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going
I swear that the old bear whispered "Boy welcome home"

This week my kids have "returned to Pooh corner."

Collin's been busy making a tree house in the backyard:

He's been working on it nonstop--from dawn until the wee hours of the night. He drew up plans on paper and began collecting wood (he has a goal to use only scrap wood). I'm happy to report that the floor and support beams are now in. Last Saturday night I came home to Sage, Frankie (a family friend) and Collin all sitting on the platform watching a movie!

He's had lots of helpers along the way! Stay tuned to see the progression.

Brecken's been busy playing school with all of Sage's friends:

She set up a live classroom--complete with desks and hall and bathroom passes.

Today it started pouring down rain (doesn't happen very often here in Utah). I heard screams of excitement and looked in the backyard to my three children singing and dancing in the rain together:

They then got really creative and made a slippery slide out of pool mats.

These are the moments and I can't ask for more.
